Bryce Douglas As disappointing as it is, it's true and evident EVERYWHERE. As a black gay male, there was never really "a seat at the table" for me for that reason alone. I just don't fit in, so I keep to myself (don't go to any pride events, very few gay friends, most of my friends are straight) and I'm 100% ok with it all. Whenever I talk about gay people (which is rare), I purposely cut out the words "community" and "we." There's nothing communal about gay people and the only time there's some sort of unity is during a pride event, clubs/bars, or when shit hits the (national) fan.
