Thanks for the feedback. Copying the formula down is just Copy & Paste (Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V or right click mouse and choose Copy / Paste). Alternatively, you can drag the formula down with the 'Fill Handle' (bottom right corner of the cell).
Hi i have an invoice I have made up. at the bottom i have sub total then 20% then total. i have to add the 20% in from a calculator. how can i add it in . also if people pay by card i want to add a 1.75% in somewhere so it all totals up does that make sense.
Thank you!!!!! i would like to do a spreadsheet using the above but with multiple columns, IE different headings etc IE fuel, product, electric, is this possible?
+Julia Gregory Hiya Julia, thank you for your comment. Of course this is possible, but you'd need to freeze the cell containing the 'VAT Rate' with $ within your formula. i.e. put VAT Rate in cell B2........then make all your formula's that use this VAT Rate look like this: =A1*$B$2. I hope that answers your question, but please feel free to send me a copy of the file you're working on if you want to me to take a look and give you some more specific help: info@excelace.co.uk Thanks Traci.
Hi Grainne, if I've understood your question correctly, you can just copy and paste the formula down the column. Apologies if I've misunderstood. Traci
I'm sorry Betty, I've only just seen your comment!! It shouldn't be anything to do with your new laptop......this is a standard formula that's available on all versions of Excel. If you'd like to send me your file, I'd be happy to have a look at what's causing the issue? info@excelace.co.uk Thanks, Traci Xx
I thought you could put the formula in the top cell and apply it to all the cells in that column. this way would do what I need it to do though, thanks
Hi - I had the same issue as Betty #value showing after entering the calculation, this was because the cell was formated to display dates and not a number / currency value :-)
