How comfortable is the seat for having all the weight on the sits bone for an extended period of time? Do u have seats for obese people? Can we change them out?
Hi Barb. I'm assuming that these don't do well inside of your apartment or your home, So is there any chance that you're working on something that would work indoors and not be so wide in front? If not, Each person is going to end up being in a wheelchair or using a walker inside their home or apartment anyway. I have taken some still pictures from Your Videos and I think it's a wonderful thing! I hope the price can come down So the average person could have one. I will tell everybody that I khow about it. My knee is falling apart and it's bone on bone, So i'm looking at some time needing some way of getting around after having my knee replaced. Will the unit work As well after knee surgery as it does for some more permanent Challenges? Thank you for the great invention and for your videos!
Stanford is currently doing a study with Alinkers specifically for knee surgeries before and after. Great benefits. It fits within the footprint of a wheelchair, but too big for a small apartment
Why only a very small wheel should support the weight of the body? I would prefer to be sure where I am sitting, having 2 wheels instead of one wheel behind. Why not one wheel at the front, and two wheels behind? Please explain, so I could participate in the donation.
Hi Shog Imas, The one wheel in the back is to have a little as possible obstruction behind your feet, so you can make full strides and in fact walk on wheels. When you go through corners, you need to make smaller steps and there is a risk of bumping your heel to the rear wheel. So to have that be a minor bump only, the wheel is small. When the wheel would be larger, there would be a risk that your foot could get under the wheel. We have put an extra bearing in the wheel and it is complete alloy, so very strong and comfortable. Two wheels in the front makes it more stable, and when you go through corners, you can actually make a very tight corner, because nothing behind you can ram into anything. So safer, easier, stabler and ore fun! With its Ackerman steering mechanism, it feels like you are operating a vehicle.
Tho are there means in which to attach a basket etc for those who can't carry backpacks? I wonder if anyone has experimented with walking two dogs on leads with this vehicle😊
yes people mount their baskets on the front, carry luggage behind it, and many people take their dogs out for walks, sometimes after years! It makes for very happy dogs
$3 thousand dollars??? SERIOUSLY? I bought an Adult tricycle and it only cost me $300 and NOT $3 grand... like this thing! My trike has a front and back basket so I can carry groceries! And, I wouldn't fall off! AND.. It's not easy to steal!
The yellow seems like a safer color so cars can see you better although i understand tour preference. I bet if this takes off they can offer it in many colors.
I like the idea! but I would be scared to put myself on such a small wheel. It does not inspire reliability. It should be more reliable. I would loose my balance over it, when I get tired of moving my legs. This looks more like an acrobatic device, more for young population than for disabled.
That will change once you try it. Most people who try it are surprised how stable it is and how safe they feel. Nearly everybody who is using an Alinker now, have some kind of mobility challenge, ranging from MS, CP, Amputees, Parkinson's, RA, bad knees, etc....
What a outstunding invention !! It gives tremendous benefit to those who suffer from arthritis on Knees.
Worth a nobel prize!
thank you Tamaji!
Thank you, you have given me hope, the chance of being able to move outside.

I’m a Health Professional in Australia. How could I become involved in rolling these out in my own country?
God bless you, Barbara, and your Mom to challenge you. Did she try it ❤😊

And yet, like bicycles, it still has a seat designed for men.
