Meet BE: The Visionary Behind the Alinker Bike!
BE was raised by her grandma who was the poor matriarch of her family, but instilled deep wisdom about justice and earth in BE; her father who prepared her to be a political prisoner, who died when she was 8; and a mother who got lost in being a widow with 3 kids at 35 and entered her puberty along with her kids, and was found on the barricades of the feminist movement.
Being a gender bender who has no language for who BE is in the context of a white euro-centric patriarchal capitalistic society, made her enter 10 years of international work in a unique way.
Her experiences in Afghanistan are right out material to translate into a mini series like Homeland, giving a view on international work and hidden agendas of donors.
Shaped through these years, now the founder of the Alinker company, a vehicle for change, BE is challenging all the assumptions and constructs of society about disability and a healthcare system she refers to as a sickcare system, in which happy and healthy people are a bad business model. BE is developing the antidote to a sickcare system by making mobility, community and real food the pillars of the healthcare system we all need to heal.
BE's book challenges the reader (viewer) to look inward in how we uphold the destructive systems that control our minds, until we decolonize and decondition ourselves, to chose who we want to be in this time here on earth.
BE, the founder of Alinker, is a visionary leader driven by a deep sense of purpose. In this video, she opens up about her life journey, from her rural roots in the Netherlands to becoming the driving force behind the Alinker walking bike. BE shares how her upbringing, curiosity, and daily practice of self-reflection have shaped her mission to create a more connected and healthier world.
Learn how BE’s story and her unwavering commitment to redefining mobility have turned Alinker into more than just a bike-it’s a movement. Discover the passion and purpose that fuel the Alinker’s mission to empower people and build meaningful connections.
Inventing BE, a memoir/manifesto by BE Alink is currently trending on the best selling list of Amazon www.amazon.com/gp/new-releases/digital-text/156425011/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_digital-text_bsnr

    @TheAlinker this is revolutionary! When I'm in the grocery store or other places with high shelves, I also see frustration. I call myself a walking cripple because although I can walk or stand, it's painful. Especially if I've done too much. I know in the future, I will be in a wheelchair. I resigned myself to it. But this...this is a game changer! When I'm in stores, I often see wheelchair bound people looking up with anger or frustration. Some have the option of struggling to get up and retrieving items. But more often items are passed by because they can't. I will ask them if they want something and grab it. Normally, I say things like "man, why do they make stuff so high?" Then ask if they want help. Some accept but some say no and look embarrassed. Your device will greatly reduce the loss of independence! Is there a way to attach a small basket on the handles for purses or packages?

      thank you, yes most bike accessories can be fitted and people have attached a large variety of baskets, cargo racks, cane holders, foot rests, etc. The experience you describe above says everything about the inaccessible world we live, in which people have experiences of being excluded.

    At $2,570USD the price is beyond the reach of so many people who could benefit from it. No, the $1000 down and 8 payments of almost $200 doesn't make it much more affordable. If it was $1,000, with $500 down, maybe I could afford one. With Trump's tariffs, next year, the price in the US will go up to over $3,000. 😮😳

    • @TheAlinker
      @TheAlinker 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      een wiel voor geeft een kantel lijn die vooruit ligt, het twee wielen voor kun je alleen maar achteruit kantelen.... Alinker heeft gehele Ackerman besturing, waardoor de bochten soepel zijn. Op een driewieler met 1 wiel voor raak je snel de balans kwijt omdat het tegen natuurlijk is om rechtop door de bocht te gaan. Met de Alinker kun je in de bocht 'hangen'... een stuk veiliger.... ook met langere passen maken, schop je nergens tegenaan achter je, omdat er niks is

    Have you ever considered adapting the Alinker for people with M.E. cfs, Long COVID etc, who cannot exercise much at all, without worsening their condition, but might like a version of the Alinker that included a lightweight battery powered motor so they could use their legs a bit and then cruise along propelled by a small motor? Both my daughter and I have M.E. cfs and we had to crowd fund in order to buy her an electric wheelchair so she could go back to university. She also got a grant to buy an off road attachment... And both the chair and attachment are great, but heavy and unwieldy to get in and out the car. They also mean she is nowhere near eye level when using them, plus it's a sitting position that is not helpful for the spine and hips, even though the chair was custom built for her. I'd be interested in your thoughts...

    • @TheAlinker
      @TheAlinker 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      hi, some people with long covid are actually using it because you are walking on wheels, but fully supported, so you go further with less fatigue. We did a quick study at the University of Amsterdam where people with failing heart or lungs tried it. The finding was that when they went at 3km/hr their heart rate stayed the same yet they were going. At 5km/hr, they would get a bit of a workout. One can build it up, increase long capacity and improve heart rate. And you mention having to do a crowdfunding campaign... We understand that this system drives people into poverty, so we make them available in various ways though, please check out the 0% rent to own, Gently Used ones and our crowdfunding campaigns platform, integrated in our site (250 already completed) www.thealinker.com It is a high quality custom product though, and is not the cheap stuff that breaks down after a year. Have a look what is involved to produce these th-cam.com/video/4divXWAAlxk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZzI2d2qnf1KFnPO-

      except for the differences.... Draisine was for dandy men to prance around, Alinker for people who experience mobility challenges. Draisine was made of wood, Alinker is a highly engineered aluminum device. Draisine had two wheels, Alinker three. All that is similar is that you walk on wheels...
