- Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink scored a sensational injury-time winner as Celtic's 2-1 victory over derby-rivals Rangers swung the SPL title race in their favour. Shunsuke Nakamura opened the scoring with a stunning swerving drive from outside the area but Nacho Novo equalised in the second half and Allan McGregor saved Scott McDonald's penalty as the visitors seemed to be heading towards a crucial point, despite a red card for defender Carlos Cuellar. But with just seconds remaining Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink headed home Scott McDonald's knock-down to claim all three-points for Gordon Strachan's men, sparking a melee at the final whistle which saw Gary Caldwell and David Weir sent off.

We get little to no Scottish football in Texas, so this was the main matchup I could watch on the Tele a few times a year! People complain about the lack of quality in the Scottish League, but who cares. The intensity in some of these matches is on another planet!

Nakas goal was amazing but when Novo equalised it meant nothing. I ran around my room when Jan scored. Jan's goal is the 4th best celtic goal in my lifetime. I was there, what a night! A legendary game and atmosphere. My first 7 times attending these games I never seen Celtic win, seen plenty since though.
This was an essential win that eventually brought an unlikely league title to Celtic Park following a late run of wins in the league. The league that was won in honour of Tommy Burns who passed away around that time (modern day Celtic legend).

I was twelve-years-old when this match was played. I remember watching it at home with my mum and dad. Electric atmosphere. I can remember my dad saying beforehand it was a "must win". When McDonald missed the penalty, I thought that was it. Entire house began shaking when Venegoor headed the winner

This is my favourite Glasgow derby. A lot of Celtic fans will probably prefer the 6-2 game under O'Neill or the various big wins under Rodgers but this game had everything for me. A screamer from Naka, Scott McDonald making up for his missed pen and the euphoric finish with Vennegoor of Hesselink. Also a midweek night game which adds to the atmosphere.
Great assist from Gary Caldwell for the Nakamura goal.. wait did I just say that? What an immense game! Rangers got to the final of the UEFA Cup and tired but Celtic had been in champions league that season as well - we sealed it on the last day against Dundee United where big JVOH much like in this game scored the crucial goal!

Thanks to Rangers Celtic always had a team to fight, compete with and improve. If you realized, as soon as they went to the League 2 Celtic have become much weaker.. 10 years ago nobody could best us at Celtic Park.. But now we lose against average clubs and Celtic is not that Celtic anymore.. That's why I prefer Rangers on top. Cause if there is no strong team, we can be stronger..
