- I had my final court hearing regarding the gargantuan fines that I received for using an EUC. Watch to see the results of my case. It has been an 18 month ordeal so far and I didn't have a lawyer for any of my court hearings. This one was completely self represented due to a lack of funding.

Glad you won, shame that it has to count as a mobility aid to be legal, these type of micro mobility devices should be seen as a revolution in mobility not something illegal
Yeah it should definitely be available for anybody not just those with specific mobility issues. Such a useful device that alleviates so many issues that are faced by modern cities.
Congratulations on your case win! I'm a veteran with a permanent disability (hand injury) and moved to EUC for the same exact reason; it's hand free. I can't drive, and cycling long distances was putting me in pain each time, despite being otherwise enjoyable. I hope EUC soon get the status they deserve.
It's great to hear from someone else who benefits greatly from these devices also. I hope they get the status they deserve too. There's nothing that can do what these things do in terms of form factor, range, speed and agility.

Living in the UK it's a similar kind of deal, like mostly people don't get hassled so bad, but they're still not technically legal.

Congratulations on a great victory in court! I am so glad I don't live in a place so restrictive on these things. Riding my EUC is like my therapy...I would hate to always be looking over my shouler for the cops.

Congrats! I feel you need a helmet at least, if not full body armor. I know your a master on the EUC, but last couple months 2 people in my town died from personal crashes on EUCs. One I know missed hopping the curb, face planted and died of head injury. These are AWESOME vehicles, but they are no joke. Get well, be safe!
Yeah, and I reckon if we want the laws to change, that's cool but obviously people will be expected to suit up, just like riding a motorcycle or whatever.

You can be so lucky to live in a country with a functioning legal system. One always thinks of Germany, but unfortunately the reality is different. The first punishment costs about 1.5 gross monthly wages, the second then about 3, etc. If you don't stop, you end up in prison. They are not banned because of safety concerns, but because the need for them is so high. However, some very influential people in Germany make their money selling cars or car parts and they are not willing to give a piece of the pie, certainly not to China. No politician dares to touch it because it would mean the end of his career and all lawsuits have been huge failures.

Yeah I'm gonna look into getting compensation for the time input. Hopefully I can get something for it since I had to take time off work to attend some of my hearings.

From U.S.A.: I use my EUC as a mobility device due to my health issues.
I had one slight issue with one park ranger who had to radio in about the device and he's headquarters ok it.
The other issue was at the airport that I work at, I had been riding it with no incidence but one knucklehead with a lil power wanted to push the issue even with my bosses backing me. So I had to get my doc to write excuse for my to ride it on the premises and then I was allowed to.
All the other law enforcement stops why for to Plain old curiosity😊.

That's a crazy amount of kms for a 16x. My OG Sherman has about 20000km.

Congrats. The EUC is green. City should be redrawing lines to allow easier riding and safety for these devices.
Congrats man, but that sucks with the cops. The cops have no repercussions for being d-bags so they will go after you again even if they know they will lose.
If the cops continue to harass you then you can get a large payday if you file suit.
I'm guessing hand--mobility issue statistics will see a steep incline in the coming months :D
What have you done about tarking to your govt representative about legalizing EUCs???
A while ago I wrote a comprehensive letter to the minister of transport but his response was very underwhelming. It's like these people are robots programmed to do what their bosses want them to do.

Thanks Mikie. That illness is completely in the past now. It has no lingering effects whatsoever. It was horrendous at the time but it's something that fully heals and then has no effect thankfully. And thankfully I didn't get the surgery they wanted to do on me because that can have life long side effects.

It's dumb that you have to have a doctors note to ride an EUC. That's just insane. Motorcycles are more dangerous honestly, and you don't see law makers banning those. There will always be irresponsible drivers no matter what vehicle they are driving, but the cops should focus on those drivers specifically, and ticket them rather than picking on EUC's just riding in the bike lane. I fully understand it if the EUC is trying to mix it up in traffic, and there is a bike lane that they should be in, but otherwise leave EUC's alone.
I totally agree. Cars are even more dangerous to everyone else that's not inside them which is even worse because you don't so much endanger yourself using them but everyone else around you.

That's exactly what it sounded like when they said that to me after the court hearing. But there's more to this story now. I got charged again by the cops for using my EUC. They didn't impound it like they threatened but they dished out another $1800 worth of fines. So I took them to court again and they lost again. Hopefully they've figured this thing out by now.

Find out maximum speed limit and stick to it. If they saw you doing like 70kmh no way you would have won that case even with mobility issues.
Yeah it wouldn't help the case going that speed. Kind of sucks though limiting these things like that.
The car/fossil fuel companies have created a society that punishes those who can't or chose not to drive cars. E-micro transporters are a big threat to their bottom line and dominance.
Absolutely spot on. It's got absolutely nothing to do with safety and everything to do with cash. Otherwise these people would be able to see the obvious fact that it's far safer to commute on something that weighs less than your own legs compared to commuting inside of a 2 ton behemoth of a machine that can plow through buildings and houses capable of killing people even behind concrete walls. They can drive these monsters while eating and doing other silly nonsense that's normal and legal which puts others at tremendous risk.

I just want to know how the heck did the bikes in Netherlands get such favor as to have a law that states "if a car hits a bike the car is at fault." I know that there the insurance companies said this has to happen or we won't write a policy for bikes.

There is none. They just give out a giant fine which says things like "using an uninsured vehicle on the road", "using an air cushioned vehicle on the road" etc. Not joking about that last one and I still have no idea what they're talking about. Like if I had a solid rubber tyre I wouldn't get that fine?

Yeah crazy isn't it considering that on my scooter (before I knew about EUCs) I had to change tyres every 800km. And there's 2. Was like a part time job. This wheel is a dream by comparison.
