So you made a video to slag off Bromley - that Primark and the market are where locals buy their clothes and Nike is as premium as it gets, that market is a Charter Market that’s been there over 100 years, not somewhere you’d find DelBoy. Did you not walk past Ted Baker, M&S, The White Company, Zara, Apple Store, Flannels, Mint Velvet, Molton Brown, Goldsmiths, Massimo Dutti, Oliver Bonas, Jo Malone, GAIL’s Bakery, Bread Ahead, Black Sheep Coffee, itsu, Waitrose, or enter the restaurant terrace overlooking the park outside The Glades, or the art house Picturehouse Cinema? And as for south London stabbings, Bromley is one of the safest boroughs in the whole of London, it also consists mostly of those of Rising Prosperity and Affluent Achievers, has excellent transport links to central London (Victoria in 16 minutes, no word of a lie), you’d also needn’t venture far to jaw-droppingly notice the multi million pound houses that supplement the retailers above that choose to situate a store in their chain in this area. The John Lewis Partnership have also chosen Bromley to build their first ever build-to-rent scheme while refurbishing and enlarging the existing Waitrose store, which recently won the support of local residents and successfully gained the necessary planning permission. Why make videos like this, honestly? It’s just not nice, when there are so many positive things to say. Some places are worthy to be picked on as they are truly awful, like Croydon. The fact you were completely blind to much of the above probably says more about you than the town of Bromley.
I have not made a video slagging off Bromley, Tony? The clue is in the title. It's about looking at towns from a tourist perspective. If you think Bromley is really the best part/town in the UK then you need to get out more mate.
I once lived and worked as a Police Officer in Bromley in the 1960/70s it was then a lovely place to live and work. Bromley was then a lovey Kent market town compared to the dump it has now become. The first nail in its coffin was its inclusion into Greater London then the building of The Glades shopping centre, once inside you could be in any city/town in the U.K. The old Bromley was a quiet town with high class shops in its town centre. Bromley has lost ALL of its lovely charm and character.
thats just not true, bromley is still very nice compared to the rest of london, and definitely better than medway lmao. Bromley still has a TON of charm, it just has some bad parts due to the 60s type of architecture. A lot of other places had it WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY worse, Dont be whining about a great borough. Croydon had it way worse compared to Bromley aswell
Born in Bromley in 75, left age 25 and have lived in Australia for past 25 years. The good old days of Bromley are long gone. Bromley hasn't changed by looking at it, a little more untidy though. Also, all the old shops have gone, no Allders, BHS, C&A, Woolworths, from what I could see only the banks, marks and maccas are the same.
Thanks for the comment, Pomozzie. Bromley has changed, hasn't it. I would say London on a whole is changing at such a rapid pace. Most of the shops from the past have disappeared or gone under. It's interesting to hear your story!
It's defos London. It was Kent back in the 50s, but since the expansion of Greater London. I would categorise Bromley as an integral part of Greater London.
@@theofficalGibTV It def isn't pure London, even Sadiq Khunt says it is a LB and in Kent! FYI-It is also still part of Kent, even Sadiq Khunt said it is a LB and Kent. Examples: A friend of mine works at Chislehurst Caves and on leaflets and in the tour says Kent and it is also is certificated of being member of the association of tourist attractions in Kent check their website-FACT! If you go to Charles Darwins House in Downe-Kent not only is the Postcode in Kent but has won many Kent awards over the decades!
I lived in Bromley from 1972 until 2021. The place has turned into a complete dump over the last twenty years. Do yourself a favour and escape while you can. There are much nicer places in the country to live.
