I have bp1 and I experienced domestic violence from my first husband and my third and I was a victim. Just because a person is diagnosed with bp1 doesn't mean all are violent. I took up for myself and I was a victim and I will not tolerate it anymore from any man. I am so tired of it people male or female not owning up to what they do behind closed doors. So what how rosy they appear on the outside. I forgive but I will never forget. Those kinds of people lack empathy period, and just are self seeking and it has nothing to do with mental illness. It has to do with power, manipulation, control, money, insecurity, and I could keep going....I made mistakes by loving and trusting the wrong people. Its a shame that people have to be dishonest in the first place. Bipolar disorder does not equal bad. As a child I was hyper just lots of energy. Trouble concentraring remembering etc...depression as well still battle. Impulsive in decisions not a bad person. Depression battled with didn't abuse drugs nor alcohol. Not everyone is the same. Bipolar disorder stigmas need to stop. I agree above. I deal with anxiety. Hope I don't I think it will happen. The Ableisms and misperceptions of this disease in society need to be addressed. Its good to see that these doctors are caring for the younger generations.💜
