    What a boss Sayid was. Knew he had done terrible things, and this was his chance to try and make ammends. Didn't even hesitate, knew the bomb was going off, gave pertinent advice and ran with it to protect his friends.

      At that point he wasn't ready to believe the craziness to that degree. Jack went years before he finally believed like the real Locke believed. He legit thought he was helping, that's why Jack isn't upset with him later. Why Jack comforts him when Sawyer laments that he's the one who got them killed. Jack knows first hand how tough the kind of ask that type of faith is. It wasn't his fault, it was MiB's long con simply working as intended.

  • @finb
    @finb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +139

    MiB can't kill Candidates directly, so if Sawyer had just let the timer run down, the bomb wouldn't have gone off. It was Sawyer's intervention that detonated it. Therefore, Sun, Jin and Sayid were all killed by their friend. Damn.

    • @artembaranov
      @artembaranov  3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Are u sure? It was MiB' idea to bring them together in a closed space and blow up the bomb so nobody can survive. He did this indirectly using the bomb without his own skills.

    • @finb
      @finb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      @@artembaranov Yeah but he also knew that Sawyer's impatient would cause him to trip the bomb. Using Locke's knowledge of Sawyer as well as their encounter in 6x03, MiB knew that Sawyer would do exactly this. The bomb couldn't have exploded without intervention, because then it would have been a direct result of MiB which would violate "the rules".

    • @artembaranov
      @artembaranov  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@finb Thanks for the information, looks like u're a real fan of the series. This point is really new for me.. May I ask your opinion on some questions? Did the h-bomb explode or not when Juliet bumped it with the rock? Why pregnant women always die on the Island /starting from some unknown time/? What was Jack's plan to kill MiB/Smokey when he faces him on the lawn before they went to the heart of the Island?

    • @finb
      @finb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@artembaranov Absolutely! I'm always happy to discuss this awesome show with fans. To answer your questions:
      1 - I believe the H-Bomb did indeed explode, and because of how close the detonation was to the anomaly under the island, the two effects were cancelled out which is what threw our group back to the present day.
      2 - Pregnant woman only died on the Island after Juliet had detonated the bomb, as evident by how Amy can successfully give birth to Ethan in the 70s. So it would stand to reason that the radioactive side effects of the detonation are what affect the mothers in their second/third trimesters.
      3 - I believe that Jack had thought a "long game" plan out from prior to their encounter on the lawn. Despite how risky it sounds, Jack's plan appeared to be to trick MiB into going with him to the Heart of the Island, as seeing as he likely knows this is where "it all started," he believes this is also where it can all end. So I think the conflict he had with MiB before they ventured out was all part of Jack's illusion to convince MiB that he actually no longer wanted to kill him, when in truth, he was just biding his time to get MiB into the place where he thought the most damage could be dealt.

      I think it is especially touching that Sayid ran off with the bomb even though he didn't have a soul. It shows that he was still a good person at heart, even when he was being controlled by the Man in Black.
      Sayid's death was a sad moment in the show, but it was also a fitting end for his character. He died a hero, saving his friends and the Island from destruction.
      I think Sayid is a great example of how even the most broken people can find redemption. He was a tortured soul, but he ultimately found a way to find peace and happiness. He is a reminder that it is never too late to change for the better.
