I am just starting lessons myself. I saw the little bit of shake in your hands and made a note to not record myself when I get to that point because I will probably be shaking more!! 😂 The relief after the combination of excitement and nerves had to be a good feeling after the landing! Congratulations!!
I would record it if you can, just don't let it be a distraction, fly the plane. This was one of my first recordings and the audio was terrible, I've since found a better way. I go back and watch it from time to time though, it was a great day and I'm glad I captured it, even if it wasn't perfect!
Very nice footage, great compilation. And it’s was smart decision to make first solo at non towered airport, less stress. My congratulations and big Sub for your really big day in life
Wow, I dream of doing this. I'm 58 and have never been a pilot but have always loved aviation. Not sure yet if I can afford it. I'm in Virginia too btw. If you ever fly to Danville, VA (towered) or South Boston, VA (non towered) and don't mind a visitor looking at your plane and asking you a bunch of questions : ), let me know! I'd come out and meet you at either airport. Also Blue Ridge Airport (near Martinsville) is a bit farther for me, but they supposedly have a great restaurant right on the field. Either way congrats, and I'll at least enjoy your flying vicariously.
Great!! Congrats! Love how you audibly talked through all the steps, very helpful especially for something like a first solo!
Fifty years and 30,000 hours later, I can remember mine like it was yesterday. Good luck, stay safe and stay happy.
Great work. Brings back many memories. Congratulations.
I did my first solo in a PA 28 a few moths ago out of Shellharbour NSW, I felt exactly what you did. Great video, loved your self commentary.

I just signed up for flight school at 40. Glad to see I’m not the only one who waited to live a dream.
Good luck! You can do it!

Such an awesome feeling flying your own plane for the first time! I look forward to seeing many more flights!
Memories from 1965 ! Slight differences in cockpit but the excitement is the same. Enjoy flying!
Cool! I am about to go do my first solo in about 2 hours. I am pretty nervous too but ready to get it over with.
I'm sure you'll do great!
Congratulations, it's a great feeling of accomplishment. Nicely done
Well done! I too own a Cherokee.
Circuits come in all shapes and sizes 😊 Congratulations.
Great job!!!
Glad you survived.😅
badass! you held centerline so well on takeoff
Essentially the same plane I did my first solo in... in 1978! Except for the more modern radio stack.
I'm told by the previous owner that the old radios were stolen so he had to get them replaced... ☹
First six hours training in one 1984. Congrats.
