The best way to explain why I admire Delon is by using an analogy.. imagine you are a great soccer player but not enough to make it in the starting field. Naturally since you are a pro you actually care about the world of soccer more than your avg joe. Also you will have one or two that you look up to. And then there is the "One" that everyone reveres and you see him as the pinnacle of what someone at the highest level can do with soccer. That someone would be either Ronaldo or Messi imo. Well in my prime I was a true 7.5. I know what it's like to be handsome. I know what it's like to be the center of attention, what it's like to have a girl fall in love with me at first sight, what it feels like to be treated nicely.. and so on and on.. all because of looks. For me, it's his balance of masculine and feminine features, his high level of averageness/familiarity (I didn't know this guy before and the first time I've seen his face I thought to myself "I swear to god I've seen his face before but I don't know where", and lastly his mannerisms and his style, I like how masculine and attractive they are, it's just such a breath of a fresh air to see among the many feminine men like KPOP and movie stars that we have today. The best way to explain why I admire Delon is by using an analogy.. imagine you are a great soccer player but not enough to make it in the starting field. Naturally since you are a pro you actually care about the world of soccer more than your avg joe. Also you will have one or two that you look up to. And then there is the "One" that everyone reveres and you see him as the pinnacle of what someone at the highest level can do with soccer. That someone would be either Ronaldo or Messi imo.
Well in my prime I was a true 7.5. I know what it's like to be handsome. I know what it's like to be the center of attention, what it's like to have a girl fall in love with me at first sight, what it feels like to be treated nicely.. and so on and on.. all because of looks. Therefore i also care about the looks world and I ponder if this is what a 7.5 is then what is the life of someone at the pinnacle. Imo and just about everyone agrees is that it's Delon. I have an idea but deep down I know it's much more than I can imagine and that gives me life.
I know that's what not what you asked so to answer your question, to me Delon is the pinnacle mainly because of the life he had. Just as soccer people argue who is the best of all time but to me the real answer comes down to how many awards or trophies or achievements the player has had and there it's objective. Messi fits that bill. In the world of looks, Delon has had an amazing life and it was all due to his looks.. there is no other male that I know that dated a celebrity at age 21 as a unknown and broke person. There is no one that became a professional actor with no prior acting skills or even an audition. He was chosen simply cause of his looks. There are many stories about this legendary beauty and how he would stop everyone in their tracks when he walked a street and everyone's eyes from men, women, babies and even dogs would be in awe at his beauty when he entered a restaurant.. he has many stories that he undoubtedly and objectively the most good looking man of all time.
And I get it, he had the perfect mix of masculine and feminine features, he has the best phenotype, best eye coloring, his hair is gorgeous, etc. He is pretty much an angel walking on earth (in his prime) and would make any female weak in the knees.

Tbh, for me, I just keep asking myself like who's "the one" in every aspect of the world. The greatest composer of all time? Probably Beethoven, the greatest soccer player? Maybe Ronaldo. The most important person in history? Maybe Jesus or Mohammad. The greatest scientist of all time? Probably Newton. so I need the answer to the question, "who's the most handsome man of all time?" Then Delon fits the answer.
Measuring beauty based on achievements actually sounds very interesting , so in a way, Delon is like Jeremy Meeks but 100 times better. Though, about your points that Delon was chosen solely based on his looks, I disagree a little bit. It should be noted that Delon's father's profession was related to theatrical shows so he wasn't really unfamiliar with the world of acting.
