Pretty cool but without having a good strong lock none of these gate latches are any good really because any trespasser will just open it and go into your property man without it being actually locked up with a good decent outdoor non pickable or bypassable or least not easily picked or bypassed lock!
These gate latches are lockable without this modification. With the padlock in place you are unable to lift to release the fork. Really nice gate latch.

You could use large electrical shrink wrap instead of hoses as well
The gate latch that you added the radiator tubing, was it the extra wide fork or the standard fork?
Do you have a preferred latching system for side by side gates - Behlen 2" tube. Gate Hands?
