As tim said, had a problem then solved it. Wishing rod and Kylie all the best in this new innovating project. REMEMBER just because something has work for years doesn't mean it carnt be improved.
The #CleverGateCo is such a great idea... well done to Rodney and Kylie for your courage a perseverance to get this product to market! Looking forward to your journey!
Bloody brilliant Tim. I am so delighted that this will solve problems with farm gates. To Rodney and Kylie, a huge thank you for this outstanding invention.
What a great idea! Well done Kylie & Rodney! ACP (concrete posts) are really good to use. We used an Elgra Percussion Driver. They are an Australian business in South Nowra. They might be worth a story too.. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you Tim & all of your viewers 🎅🎄 Look forward to seeing your videos again next year 😃👍
In South Africa in the Afrikaans language we have a saying. " n Boer maak n plan", wich translates into english "a Farmer makes a plan". Over the centuries farmers always had to come up with plans to find solutions for certain problems. This another testimony of a brilliant solution to a certain problem
If the small section had 20nb horizontal pieces instead of mesh you wouldn’t have to worry about the mesh being busted off allowing them to lift the gate off the bottom hinge. Another common problem with cattle and gates.
The amount of co2 and fuel that goes into making cement makes cutting down trees the green option. Especially since it creates a industry which makes planting trees profitable…
Where I'm from they got bumper Gates bumper Gates operate same thing except to hit it with the car and it opens up and then when you get through it shuts back on itself opens either way the gate is swung to be low in the middle so that it returns to close yeah we've been doing that for ever since I've been driving cars in the United States I think
Off subject, but I have a question for Tim or anyone who knows. If I connect 2 sections of high tensile fence with a high quality portable braided electric wire will I suffer a drop in power?
Concrete is not environmentally friendly. Way too much energy hogging cement. You'd be better off planting a small block of trees for future fence posts. In USA we use "hedge apple" aka bois d'arc. They grow slowly but lasts decades and decades as fence posts. Tougher than iron almost
@@Nath8737 Yep... There are lots of options out there. It's my privilage to showcase them and your job to figure out which ones suit your needs. Have a great Christmas mate.
@@FarmLearningTim thanks for the link. I recall just such a "silvo-pasture" writeup in US grazing magazine, "Stockman Grass Farmer" about 20 years ago. Reminded me of my ancestors who, in 1807, moved from South Carolina to the then new acquired Mississippi territory. On the "passport' required to pass through Cherokee Indian lands in Georgia they listed over 30 cattle. They trekked to the vast park like longleaf pine region. Massive, hundreds of years old trees. The diaries noted trees were spaced far enough apart to allow two wagons to easily pass side-by-side with room to spare. Enough filtered light to allow good grass growth. The riparian zones along the numerous springs/creeks allowed good growth of hardwoods like pecans & hickories while the higher ground was filled with majestic longleaf pine. A really diverse environment. Thanks again for the link
As a rancher that’s opened thousands of gates in my 70 years ,I think that is a brilliant idea.
This is fantastic! Well done Rodney and Kylie! 👍A practical, simple and clever solution!
🤠Lol... nice one Tim... swings both ways... a new millenium!😂
It is indeed…. Brave new world Aldus….
A Great invention. great job folks
Great video. Just a note, "Farming is being an engineer daily!
wow -mind blown 🤯 watched it a few times this is great work on an old problem
Great gate and the old barrel strainer works well with the concrete post
Necessity is the mother of all inventions as they say. Congrats on a great solution and added business.

Good morning, Tim, fantastic gate and I wish them luck, I will keep an eye open for the product at my farm shop, Cheers

brilliant design
I had to wait until the end but it was worth it. Have a great Christmas and New Year.

Thanks for your support ❤
Nice work 👍🏼
Great channel Tim.
Thanks mate much appreciated. Have a great Christmas and a wonderful new year.
You too mate
Genius
Looks like basic mechanics. You never showed a resolution for re-alignment. What keeps the gate from staying in the folded condition?
That’s the IP. Hopefully I’ll get to install a production one soon and then I can show it
I'm a boilermaker and mechanical minded and I know how it works 🤐 great job a local in the Hunter Valley 👍
Great thinking
Neat solution to an aged old problem.
Great video Tim
Hmm. We need such a manufacturer here in the US. Got my wheels turning for a side business to my farm.

🙂
Looks good.
How did Rodney make prototype #3 self align at centre?
That’s his IP in the patent….
Nice, brilliant. Slight pivot off the gate though, in terms of the concrete posts, would you be able to give details of the recommended suppliers.

Gates that close against post r always stronger than gates that swing both ways 😊

Awesome 👌
I am interested in the stripgrazing episode coming up. Can i ask OP to tag me a link so i don't miss.
Thanks again
Galvanized steel doesn't weld as well as non-galvanized.
That’s right. These gates are going to be galvanised after fabrication.

Why use concrete posts over steel?
Price
Looks like a great inovative gate. Are they available in US ?
Not as yet but we are definitely open to looking at distribution opportunities in the US.
The gate witch 🧙
I noticed the things on the strainer post. Are they wire tensioners? Are they bolted to the concrete post? Tim did you happen to notice them?
Easiest Farm Fence Strain? Dumbbell Roller Fence Strainers.

Depends on the conductivity and condition of the wire and braid. Generally not recommended but you could overcome resistance with several lines.
build a no twist wooden gate
i have the design 30 yrs no twist sag
All gates swing both ways when you install them properly.
Maybe watch the video and you’ll understand
Oh boyii, look at him go…
existing gateway - just shorten your gate - obviously got a welder.....not that hard to figure out
My father would be totally pissed off if he saw that so simply idea
