The Readhead of Auschwitz - A Holocaust Documentary

  • My visit to this incredible woman remains etched in my mind...
"I cried very bitter when I came home, the whole picture came to me. What did you think? That everybody is going to come home??? And I saw only the naked walls..!!
Everybody is gone, Everybody was murdered.. Murdered!!!
To believe in a situation like this and still fight and come home, you need a lot of strength. A lot of true belief in G-d".
I had the privilege (alongside @hasidiminusa) to film The Redhead of Auschwitz as she tells her story. A story full of life, as it is full of death. A story of faith and belief. A story of strength in the darkest moments any human can endure.
She is a woman of true valor and speaks with incredible strength. I wanted to hear more, to ask more, to understand HOW....
    Her answer to "..How??"
    Faith. And purpose.
Her faith came from a deeply spiritual upbringing. Her desire to help others during those times gave her purpose to fight.
"I didn't think only of myself; I helped that person come home".
She went through unimaginable horrors. "I don't think you were human anymore, but you did have something inside, you were connected with G-d somehow no matter what happened".
I am honored to share a small part of her story with the world, through this touching documentary I created. The rest of her stories are documented in a book written by her granddaughter Nechama Birnbaum, called "The Redhead of Auschwitz".
Thank you @TheRedheadofAuschwitz for giving me this amazing opportunity and allowing me to film your story. It was a truly humbling experience.

To hear her life retold in her own words - your ears intellectually hear the words but your heart cries out. I was a US Marine for 21 years and I served to ensure that this never happened again. I am getting older but if there was a wish to be young again it would be so to server and fight that this would never happen.

It is good people like you who enable this world to be a better and more tolerable place. @LynnM.2019 Much respect to you as well, as the daughter of a 3-war veteran. Amazing.

Go listen to the Marines & US veterans of WW2. They saw nothing of the sort. Also, how are 6 million killed when there were only 240,000 ALIVE...? Hmm 🤔

Libby, I had prayed that the shadow of such evil would never fall upon Israel again. My heart is broken but I gain strength in the knowledge that those who do harm against G_ds nation and against HIS chosen people will NOT escape His judgement. All my love and prayers your old Marine friend.

Rosie: "I still get confused sometimes between God, me and myself..."
What a powerful statement! We're all one and the same; a part of God. Imagine being so connected that we get confused.... I never even knew that it's something to pray for! What a wise woman!
Amazingly done, Libby!!! Your talent is beyond words!

Wow, this is so chillingly beautiful. It's so touching to see how even though she endured what is unimaginable to the farthest degree, she is able to still smile that beautiful smile, and speak words of hope and resilience. I'm truly touched watching this. It's a life changer... her outlook is a treasure.
Thank you for expertly putting together such a beautiful documentary of Rosie telling her story.

Her message of enduring strength, unity for the world, faith and positivity - even after suffering the horrors of the extreme depths of man's inhumanity to man - is a compelling source of hope and encouragement and a reminder that we each have a choice 24/7 about how we treat people and that action or inaction big or small will make a difference to individual lives and cumulatively to our communities and to the world. I thank her for sharing her story and message.

So I am trying to concentrate on what is being said, but the ridiculously intrusive music is making it difficult. It’s not even in the background, although frankly I don’t understand why it’s necessary. The content is dramatic enough without the additional sound of loud music. So annoying.
