    Great video Jordan! Will definitely keep an eye on your videos to up my own cocktail channel 😀 I really appreciate your tip on valuing work for brands. Somebody recently reached out to me and I felt EXACTLY they way you explained. So I probably priced myself too low 😆 We'll see what happens. Cheers man!

    I'm not a bartender and don't really want to aquire a bunch of liquor especially for practice. Can I use a substitute? Does colored water work?

    • @cocktailcamera
      @cocktailcamera  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey! That could actually make a really good video. Using various different colors of tea could work. I've also heard of some product photographers using diluted soy sauce as a whiskey substitute.

      I use colored water, or juices for drinks. No one will know that it has no liquor if its a mixed drink. Tea works well for certain liquor as well as water for vodka. Make it look real, and it is, visually. In food still photography, what you see is not always real.

    Hi Jordan! Great tips, thanks for sharing. I loved the tip about building a community with likeminded photographers. I think this is the tip I loved the most because that's exactly what I'm looking for at the moment. I think that interaction is very important to not feeling alone in this profession. Thanks for sharing!

    • @cocktailcamera
      @cocktailcamera  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure thing! 🙌 It’s a hard one, because like I mentioned, it can take time and effort before that community happens. Well worth pursuing and looking for though!

    Awesome Video Jordan! thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips for free here on youtube! Can’t wait to watch more of your content! I read somewhere that we should feel free to let you know what we want to learn 😄 So here we go: For me it would be so helpful to learn how to clean jars correctly so that they get this crisp and clear look. And how to avoid any strange reflections😂.
    Thanks again!

      Hey thanks so much, Louise! Ah good to know, okay I'll add that to my list for potential tutorials to make!

    • @spiderflux
      @spiderflux 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I'm not the pro that Jordan is but I happened to notice your comment. One way to diminish reflections is to use a polarizing filter on your lens, if you're not already. I think they're mainly designed for outdoor use to cut down on glare when you're shooting something like water in sunlight, but I've found they can significantly decrease reflections on glass as well. There are a few factors that come into play (camera position, angle of light) so sometimes the filter won't seem to do anything at all, but other times it really does make a difference.

    • @cocktailcamera
      @cocktailcamera  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@spiderflux hey thanks for the helpful suggestion! I've never used a polarizer in the studio before, but I'm sure that helps a lot. Great tip!

    Great tips! Thank you so much, Jordan! Especially the tip #5. This is me 🙋‍♀️ I don't have a huge following yet so I can't justify to charge my clients even a small amount 🤦🤷 and always ready to do the work for free. Can't wait to see your tips on how to actually get paid partnerships. Thank you 🙌
