Hey! That could actually make a really good video. Using various different colors of tea could work. I've also heard of some product photographers using diluted soy sauce as a whiskey substitute.
I use colored water, or juices for drinks. No one will know that it has no liquor if its a mixed drink. Tea works well for certain liquor as well as water for vodka. Make it look real, and it is, visually. In food still photography, what you see is not always real.

Hello, I'm not the pro that Jordan is but I happened to notice your comment. One way to diminish reflections is to use a polarizing filter on your lens, if you're not already. I think they're mainly designed for outdoor use to cut down on glare when you're shooting something like water in sunlight, but I've found they can significantly decrease reflections on glass as well. There are a few factors that come into play (camera position, angle of light) so sometimes the filter won't seem to do anything at all, but other times it really does make a difference.

I'm not a bartender and don't really want to aquire a bunch of liquor especially for practice. Can I use a substitute? Does colored water work?
