Ron, this was a great video. I built the tool you showed and it made changing my '04 K1200GT rear tire very straightforward. Thanks so much!
I don't know if you're still active in working on K1200s, but toward the end of the video you asked for requests for future videos. So, here's one: removal of the final drive (Paralever) assembly. My bike's pinion seal is weeping and I'd like to get the final drive rebuilt. I'm thinking of removing / re-installing it myself, but... in reading through the procedure shown in the Clymer manual, it's a bit intimidating. Since you've done this many times, a video showing your tricks & tips would be really helpful! Hope this is something you're interested in doing.
BTW, I'd love to ship the removed FD to you to do the rebuild. I'm in NorCal, not really local but not far...

Thanks Ron. I just bought an 06 Lt and I love kirks videos too but I’m looking forward to another perspective. You have a great way of explaining things.

Thanks for the video Ron! However, note that using the center tool to hold the tire for removal and installation will not work on the LT due to the pannier being in the way. Also, not sure how we would use the air ratchet either for the same reason, soooo. Not really the same for GT and LT.

I did it on my GT and My LT that's why the video. But maybe won't work for everyone.

Thanks for the help. It would also be helpful for us beginners to say what size socket wrench you need for these lug nuts.... which is 17mm.

Just changed my rear tire. Replaced with Michelin Pilot tire. Huge tire for my k1200rs. Stuck spacer to hub. Smeared some grease on the hub. Fit right up in there. Wheel is so light and the hub holds it and centers it perfectly. I have no clue as to why you need this centering bolt spade or what ever you call it. It would only get in the way for me. Not needed. Not at all.

Cannot use the the "Special tool " on the K1200LT and still take tire out rear (after removing license plate).
