Hi, Dani. I just want to let you know that your videos have helped me tremendously! I’ve competed in 2 pageants my entire life. The first pageant I won, but today I competed for NAM for the first time and I placed in the top 10. Thank you so much!
My best smile has to be the one when I see my daughter and her daddy playing together. It's a smile that burst from my heart and warms every part of my body. Love this video xxx
Hi Dani. Just saw your video winning Miss Montana USA and I may say that your edge among other finalist is your bright aura that really outshines other finalists among the top 5 during your time. I'm so impressed.
Dani you are naturally born comedian. After pageant years, I think you should do stand-up using your skills talking about ur experiences and the funny side stories. Please do it after the year as Miss USA 2018. Good luck
autoneto 😂😂😂 you don’t know how much I appreciate this comment. My family does not appreciate my humor. I’m a fan of standup. I used to watch a lot of it. It’d terrify me though. I’d never know what to say.
Hey Dani, I just personally want to thank you for inspiration . I am so excited that I am autistic and am competing in the Arkansas State Miss Amazing Pageant on 3/14/20, because it's directed to those with impairments. I am learning my walk, smiling and interview questions, I really am excited..I am using this passion presentation as a police tribute to officer Carr. He saved my life, and on 12/7/20 he was gunned down. So I'm doing a passion presentation using forensics and horses as my presentation video. Our skilled areas are not judged based on looks, but on by posture, poise, communication skills, interview skills and passion presentation. I'm practicing my eye contact with a mirror and using my questions and introduction words to practice and memorize. I can't say how thankful I am for your help ❤️❤️❤️
Really great video. I love all the videos that you post because they can clear alot of confusion on contestants . I am a fashion designer and i have alot of pageant girls year round and other than dressing them i like to give them alot of advice and i go to their finals to show support. I like watching your videos because i learn stuff that i can talk about them when they go to international pageants. Keep it up your really good at what you do! Hugs from Puerto Rico.
Here's a question: As an African American, I usually wear cornrows, box briads, single braids, etc. For the pageant I wondering do you think I should keep my hair natural or do braids. Since, you've competed and won I would like your take on this matter.
Hi Dani. I enjoyed your video. I am on the autistic spectrum, and smiling does NOT come naturally for me. I looked for videos to help me and others with this. I have always been impressed with how well beauty pageants pull this off. The ladies who serve as friends of the Disney princesses are good smilers as well. It must be really difficult to keep up the sincere smile when you are wearing clothes that are very uncomfortable and you are a nervous wreck. Kudos.
Maybe it is innate, but how do you have or achieve a full, upturned, symmetrical smile like you? From my naivety, a beautiful radiant smile is almost essential, and as pointed out one that smile changes along with other facial expressions (a great point you made regarding Miss Brazil which may have hindered her from making top 20). White teeth are just part of the equation, but how did you get your teeth so sparkling white? Thanks!
Ok, watching the rest of your video, I see some great pointers. My parents rarely smiled, and even when did not the full mouth smile you display. Do you encounter beautiful women who for whatever reason (facial muscles, bone structure, personality) cannot just exude that great full smile?
I do struggle with some of my coaching clients when it comes to smiling. But like the rest of your body, your smile is comprised of muscles. Practice can correct a naturally downturned expression. It comes down to muscle memory.
That was so helpful Dani! Many times when I compete in pageants I noticed that in my pictures my smile so big and my gums end of showing way to much how can I prevent that? Practicing?
Daisy Pantoja I used to smile so big that my eyes disappeared. It’s all practice. You’ll become self aware if you see yourself in a mirror and get used to how your muscles feel when you create the look you want.
You know i never really thought about individualizing my smile. I bet my super wide all teeth smile is 60% gums lol maybe half smile is my best smile :)
Steff Vidal honestly I am too. I’m constantly battling my inner monologue, telling myself don’t say something weird to strangers 🤣 pageants definitely helped me to feel more comfortable socially. But I do have a lot of anxiety that I have to fight when I’m in a group setting. I have to get over the initial hump of speaking to others. Pageants have helped me to do that faster, so I’m not just an observer.
Thank you so much for the help, this is sooo helpful! Can I use the same technique to do the genuine laugh on stage? Do you think that would be too cheesy for a NAM system ?
The Bake Break I don’t think you need to fake laugh for nam for formal wear. You see that more at ijm or USA for teens. Nam is still pretty conservative with their facials.
Dani Walker thank you so much! I have been working on my facials and what I should do since now they have a new formal wear pattern with NAM! It’s more of a model walk ! Thank you so much though !
Poopy's Jenaya girls have won wearing glasses. But I always suggest contacts, if possible, for competition because glasses reflect light and sometimes it blocks eye contact.
SWEET PEA TV depends on the pageant system. For younger girls in Nam, ijm, unm, type systems, no it won’t hurt. But for things like teen USA, I’d have braces temporarily removed for competition. I had to do that before.
Nothing to do right now. Some girls remove them for competition. I did that with my Invisalign brackets so they wouldn't be distracting, then I had them put back on. Upside is that you'll have a beautiful smile soon!
Hey dani How do I advertise for nam? I tried so hard last year, but I only got 1 space sold. I really want to be state ambassador, but I would have to sell two pages😢😢 I don't know how to get that many. Do you have any tips?
Hi! I need your help. I am a 13 year old and I am going in an age 13 to 16 pageant. I want to ask how can I make the judges remember me because they will have me in their minds and maybe even select me. Thank you!
Hi Amarjit, by being the best representative for the job. Demonstrating your communication skills, poise, confidence, etc. Those things can all be developed. If you need help preparing, I offer coaching. You can reach me at daniwalkermusic@gmail.com.
I think you are referring to the newly crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2019. I love her but the way she smiles especially during the final night it was really awkward and a kinda creepy when she have her fierce look. Just my opinion

Jessica Barclay awww 😭😭 that’s so beautiful
I dont even do pageants but I LOVE how beauty queens smile in pageants. I wanna learn how to do that :)
h h 😄😄😄 I work with so many clients on that. It’s allll practice. Your face is full of muscles so you have to consistently smile as you speak.
Same here girl☺💓

Brian Nieves Hi Brian!!! That is so wonderful to hear. I’m very happy that my channel can help you assist your girls!! 👑 good luck to them 😄

Love My sister for life many girls are choosing to wear their natural hair, instead of a weave, but I’ve never seen a winner wear braids.
Yes, Never?! You can be the first!! Be yourself!
I honestly think both are great because I'm sure your natural hair is beautiful, and braids may help you to stand out to the judges! Good luck!
I’m going to try a pageant at my school
GatchaGirl123 123 that’s awesome!! I hope these tips help you :)
Yes Dani!!!!!! The slight smile had me feeling all sorts of ways @2:23! lol love it!

Victory Jones thank you! So happy to help!
Do you happen to have any tips for the East Coast USA Pageants specifically? Or what to expect?
Mmmm not specific ones. One of my coaching clients won one of their titles. We just used her NAM wardrobe and intro for that pageant.
Thank you
You're very welcome!
Please can you do a video about miss universe 2018 gowns when they select the winner
I'm a socially-awkward person and sometimes I think that pageantry will help me to be better .. then I saw your vids..😊😊

So glad!
What brands for junior pre teen division pageant gowns do you recommend?
Nadia Escamilla rachel Allan and Tiffany princess gowns.

How do you look powerful without smiling when walking and posing on stage? I need to know....
I wear glasses and am competing in a NAM jr teen pageant, will they hurt my chances?
Poopy's Jenaya nope! Nam is a great system and very inclusive. Just do whatever you feel comfortable with!
Poopy's Jenaya girls have won wearing glasses. But I always suggest contacts, if possible, for competition because glasses reflect light and sometimes it blocks eye contact.
What about braces? Will those hurt my score at all?
SWEET PEA TV depends on the pageant system. For younger girls in Nam, ijm, unm, type systems, no it won’t hurt. But for things like teen USA, I’d have braces temporarily removed for competition. I had to do that before.
Dani Walker thank you so much! I'm getting braces on next month and was worried about that
I really wanna do pageants
Sign up for one :D
How do you feel about the new NAM state Pageant formal Wear stage?
I think it’s great they’re letting older contestants be more expressive on stage 😄
Dani Walker will you do a video on this topic?
What do you do if you have braces???
Nothing to do right now. Some girls remove them for competition. I did that with my Invisalign brackets so they wouldn't be distracting, then I had them put back on. Upside is that you'll have a beautiful smile soon!

I might be doing a pageant and I am nervous
Everyone gets nervous, that's okay. Doing things outside of your comfort zone build your confidence and grow your skills.
What do you do if your lips start twitching
Release your smile. Sometimes your muscles need a little break.
