I love that you go into detail on your patterns in progress. I have no desire to make my own patterns, but listening to you describe the changes you make to get the fit you are looking for helps me me a better knitter. So thank you so much! I look forward to every podcast!
Yes! I so agree.
Love this! I so love sharing it, and there arent all that many people in my life who will appreciate a 5 minute rant about neckline short rows!
I totally agree with you.
No need to apologize for the sea gulls. How fortunate to live by the sea! Also, I love that you share your creative process and details with us :^)
Knitting my Sanna while wearing my Tolsta tee and adding the Lunan to the top of my queue. I CAN'T KEEP UP GIRL!
I can't even keep up with myself to be fair
Love everything in this episode! Hearing the pup, the seagulls, the waves - good stuff. 😊 The brights really do suit you.
Did you see the Grocery Girls podcast yesterday? Tracy is making a Tolsta with stripes in bling - they were going on and on about how great the pattern is. Start at @1:03.
I saw and squealed!!! Now of course I need a striped glittery version too
I LOVE how fast you speak!!! It keeps me engaged, because I talk and think at that speed!
Agree, I also like that it keeps the podcast shorter. You get more content for the same amount of time.
I bought Lunan while I was watching. I’ve been excited for this pattern since you showed your first, blue, version! I also love that you go into detail about your design process. I find it really interesting. Have a great weekend!
So glad to hear it!, I love sharing and my partner surely must get bored of how many times I get excited about a collar
Bought Lunan the second I saw it went live, I’m not a DK knitter but I need both the polo and the round neck 4 ply versions in my wardrobe!
I think it might have converted me to being a 4ply knitter
I love listening to the seagulls on your podcast. I used to live near the ocean and now we’re landlocked in Ohio. I love it here but miss the ocean and I love hearing all the sounds.
Congratulations on your new pattern. Thanks for the discount. I love the Lunan polo collar, I hope I can press mine correctly.
❤ love the format. Currently working on the Sonya shirt x
I'm so excited for the wrap, it sounds exactly like the solution to all the problems that I encountered with commercial wrap cardigans and they're my favourite. This is the exact reason why I love hearing about your designing process, there's so much consideration of little things. And girl, you're the queen of customisable patterns, they're such an amazing value for money. Others would make 3 patterns out of what you offer as one and I think that's one of the reasons why people love them so much. There's so much other reasons, like the fact that they're so clear that even I understood everything. I knit for 9 months, I did 2 full garments in my life and screw up one 4 times 😂
Love the seagulls in the background! Just purchased the Lunan pattern for my vacation knitting project! So excited to cast on! Thanks for you lovely patterns and podcasts! Love them all. Love your energy!
Really enjoyed you talking through the ways you are making the wrap cardigan fit really well. It’s very interesting to find out why designers use certain techniques for certain garment types.
Just tuned in to TH-cam and you popped up. I LOVE that's LOVE the pink wavy scarf and here's a pitch....I will PRE TEST 🧶 I WILL knit 5 of those in my wool just for the fun of knitting a wavy scarf. I have knit 26 Sophie Scarves so I can knit. Give it a thought. I'm here. And I knit fast 🦘🦘
I will definitely keep this in mind!
I think I might kick off a test for this fairly soon, just need to get a few stripes done to make sure it makes sense.
I live in Wisconsin in the US and we have quite cold spring and falls and it’s so nice to have warmer feeling but spring looking garments and the blue polo is perfect for that sort of weather.
I love how 70s the new pattern is. Especially the one you're wearing! I immediately had to buy it. Also, are we at the stage of naming the seagulls yet? 😂
Most days it feels like there are 500 seagulls, that's a lot of names!
Thank you for all you do! Would it be possible to get a three quarter length sleeve pattern along with the long sleeve? Love how you describe your pattern design process!
Obsessed with the idea of a stick season jacket! Can't wait to see how it comes out. Will definitely be applying for the test knit, I've got some mid-dark grey that would be perfect
Thanks for another great video. You are so inspiring - I get so excited hearing you talk about your process and patterns that I want to knit them all. I'm a relatively new knitter (I've been a crocheter for years) and listening to your process is sooooo helpful for me because it clarifies why certain techniques are done. Sometimes designers assume we all know why certain shaping is done but hearing you talk about the process and the reasons you chose certain techniques such as the various shoulder shaping in your sweaters and icord edging on the wrap really helps a beginner so THANKS! Casting on the Tolsta Tee when I get back from my summer away.
I’ve loved following along with the wrap design! I have been holding off on casting on a wrap because I know yours will have the best fit, especially with the bust and waist shaping options. Eee can’t wait 😍
I'm the same! Rebecca is one of the best designers and definitely the most generous!
Thanks Rebecca. Another lovely chatty episode 😊
Just bought Lunan. My first Creabea pattern!
I think the seagulls are funny! I think of the movie finding Nemo with the gulls.
Mine!
I think we must have a nest of them on the roof as there are always so many of them. I usually block them out and then realise during filming just how loud they really are. We have a skylight in the bathroom and they like to do tap dances on there.
Your videos make me smile 😊 and your designs are so thoughtful.
I would love to hear more about how you got into knitwear design and how you learned about design, fit, pattern writing, etc.
I look forward to your podcasts and patterns. Love the Lunan pattern.
I'm with you, about being ready for cosy winter knitting! I've given up on the british summer and have now cast on a Lauder (v neck sweater version). I'm looking forward to being ready for autumn with a lovely new sweater :)
I love this new pattern. My 18 year-old daughter has been waiting for it to be released so she can make it so I'll be buying it for sure 😊
Oh that's so fun!
The donegal tweed will block out amazing. I love my white mountain sweater so soft!
I am so confident of it, and yet everytime I look at it I panic. Must keep faith in the blocking as I've only heard good things about the yarn.
I find Drops merino extra fine ideal for baby knits. Is is so soft. And because it is small, it doesn't stretch to much. Also the parents can just throw it in the washing machine.
Another great review of all your knits Rebecca! Wow! I can see why you’re so excited! One thing……..would love to see an updated Nuggle photo! Yes, I’m an animal person! Hozier jeez I love him too! Of course I had to buy Lunan! Thank you, ClaudiaSJI
I keep meaning to share them and forget! He's getting so big, I'll make sure to include some next time.
The romper is so cute! I have a friend having twins in Nov. As they are likely going to be between 4-6 lbs I have made 4 cardigans in various sizes. I use snaps and then sew the buttons on for the appearance. Babies squirm so much in getting them dressed that I find the snaps are easier for the first few months. I think I am now going to need to match the cardigans with rompers
Oh that's so clever! Might have to give that a try. The romper was so quick and fun, would definitely recommend.
Gorgeous designs you make ❤...Liked your wrap cardigan version you explained....if only you could incorporate the frills/pleats in shoulder seam....maybe it looks great with those pleated or cowl neckline...
You always inspire me! Thanks!
You are so welcome!
Great video as always.
How about a sailor collar for the jacket 😍
Hey Rebecca! In case you haven't seen or heard this -- check out the latest Grocery Girls Knit episode, timestamp 1:05:08 😊
Love the Nyx. I hope I get selected to test knit🤞 (Funny side note -- I literally just finished reading a book called King Nyx.)
Applied for the Nyx already have my yarn picked out
I have started knitting a gauge swatch using fingering and lace in Colourwork and I am excited as I am on gauge ❤
My favorite design to date
Omgosh I need that cardigan
What color is the Ulysse that you are using for Kip? So YUM! Watched twice but didn't hear you say it. Sorry if I missed it.
Hemming and hawing 🤣
Your hair looks lovely, more doggie news please!
Hi Rebecca. I'll be in Edinburgh next month and wonder if you have inside info where to buy Harris Tweed yardage. Hoping to avoid tourist options. Thanks!
Edinburgh Fabrics has a good selection!
Thanks so much!
The third stick season jacket in a camel brown would just be 😘
RIGHT?! I swatched last night with Rauma Vams and it was so so lovely to work with, so I think I just need to pick a colour from there.
When you design the Christmas colour work version, are you planning to do a fingering weight version as well? Asking from Australia, as Christmas 🎄 is pretty hot around here. Thanks
This is something i find hard to figure out. The necklines are often too high for me in garments i love. If I could feel confident to adjust the neckline id still be able to knit them 😂
It depends on the construction, but if there's neckline shaping, just start it later or spread out the increases!
Even if you don’t mind the clothes he is currently putting holes in, it is better not to let him bite anything because he won’t be able to tell the difference in the future. “Biting, NO!”
Unfortunately we're just in the teething phase where his teeth are sore and everything is bite-worthy, but it won't last for too long.
@@the.creabea I have definitely gone thru that a few times. When we caught our puppies chewing the wrong things we told them “NO”! Very sternly and then gave them a chew bone/toy. This taught them what was OK to chew and what was not OK. Your puppy will probably learn quickly if you make sure you are consistent. Hang in there! 😀
Hi, how do you get testknitters? Thank you
Cast on a second Tolsta Vest yesterday 😮😊😂…
I really love it. Last one was a 4 ply… this one a dk
Watched an interesting podcast..Fruity Knitting where you can skip and watch the interview she does with Joji Locatelli… lots of tip and tricks that may interest you in your designing path. I don't mean you need it 😬 not at all .l just super interesting 😘
I saw that there was a Joji video but haven't watched it yet! Will pop it in the queue. Thanks for sharing.
Love it! Could sleeves be made longer?
The polo? Most definitely! A tester made a long sleeved version.
@@the.creabea I love your designs!
*like the collar ( see beliw. Couldn't find a way to edit)
The three dots to the side of your comment will allow you to edit.
@@EvieBear236 No the three dots didn't give me a 'edit' button. That happens sometimes a nd I'm not sure why. maybe I wasn't signed in? xxx
The Nyx test call form mentions start date in June is that right?
Whoops! Should be July
❤️🌈
If you keep adding so many options to every pattern you will run out of designs to make!
You'd think so, but my brain can't stop with the ideas!
@the.creabea my brain is in knots trying to figure out how yours is doing this! Seriously your work is incredible!
The colour is vibrant and fun and I line the collar but Im having second thoughts because of those bunched up sections on the side fronts left of the boobs near the armholes. Both sides have an excess of fabric like a bulge and it looks ill fitting. Is this to do wth sizing or design or...? because many of Andrea Mowreys sweaters do this too.
Hemming and hawing
Thank you!
I say humming and har-ing😂 same but different 😜
Sorry to point this out but this video has the same name as the previous one!
Thank you! Fixed it!
Hurrah for fingering weight jumpers! ❤
I'm slowly but surely being converted!
