I love it when there's more information than there isn't. Don't change who you are. If someone is put off by something by no means, disconnect from it or them, right🤔 So, Shade, I really like the informative aspect of your character, beautiful you, don't change. I love you just the way you are, Billy Joel lyrics* 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💐❣️
Chat all you want Shade, one of the reason I watch your videos is you always have such a great chat, even if it's as mundane as the weather - but when living in the UK, it will always be the hottest topic! 😂♥
I have seen others put billy book cases back to back without the back panel in the small gap by the window. Also the island, you could add t&g panelling to the side to hide the seem between the wardrobe. You could put the drawers on a base too like the wardrobes and build skirting round it all. Add newel posts to the corners and it will look great built in. I cant wait to see how you finish the room. X
I think putting a raised recessed base on the two drawer units will make it the perfect height and fot in seemlessly with the wardrobes. Also same colour as the wall all the way to make them look more like built-ins and maybe a feature wall with the mirror on thats darker / dofferent colour and has some floati g shelves to the left of the mirror.
loveee these ideas thank you. hadn't thought of adding a base to the two units but i did want to put castor wheels on them to move them about more easily so this would be a good way to hide the wheels too!
Just remember if you have display shelves next to the window you will need to consider sun damage especially on bags 🤯 looks amazing can’t wait for the finished product x
lol I was just coming to the comments to tell you how much I enjoy your chatter :) don’t change that! I love watching / listening to your videos when I’m working on my home
You chat as much as you like Shade ❤.......how fabulous to have a dedicated dressing room , cant wait to see it come alive now with all the finishing bits ......but .....oh that Mirror......what a beauty ....love love love it ❤❤❤❤
I was just researching these same cabinets for my closet. Thank you for taking the guess work out of it! It looks beautiful and seemed pretty easy to assemble.
Happy New Year to Shade and Rob. I’m so glad that ur back. Talk as much as you want to. I enjoy listening to you talk about your project and future projects❤❤
Happy New year to you guys! You’re off to a flying start!..I love the new wardrobes.. You could put your ironing board & iron in the gap by the window.. You guys make a great team..🎉😊❤x
Quick point about drilling an 8mm hole in top section for wiring access........ you don't need to! The top and bottom pieces are identical so the bottom has two 8mm holes for the floor height adjusters to sit through. Top still has those holes but obviously no adjusters so just use them instead of drilling. Saves plugging the hole with plastic bung.
Hi there could I ask did u get a rubber strip in the corner wardrobe and pax do a 35 depth which is perfect for shoes and you could use a kompl valet hanger on the end gap maybe dressing gowns, love your video❤
Wow I love the new wardrobes, like the way you have installed them and the way you and Rob have put the chest of drawers in the middle of the dressing room ❤
I cannot wait to see the finished project! The paint colours sound great. After the island is complete, you should consider adding a cute bench for when you need to sit and put on your shoes, lotion your legs etc. ☺️💐💐💐
Love your videos, love your work! A tip from me would be to put in a bench or a stool. I find it very practical to be able to sit down . Also some wall hooks. All the best!
Love it! The room looks fantastic! I need to build some wardrobes in my childrens bedrooms, this has inspired me. You're definitely not too chatty BTW.
Wow it looks amazing so far . Wow wish I was as cleaver as you with building this beautiful walrobe it is my dream to have a dressing room . Love it totally great job to you and Rob . Love your long detailed helpful explanation it is much appreciated.❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💯💯💯💯
Looks lovely can’t wait to see the finished article. What size is your room please as mine looks of a similar size, been a dumping ground for 5 years, you have motivated me to get it sorted.
We do love your chatty videos I hope you don’t change that base off a few comments. In other news I am loving this transformation and can’t wait to see the finish look 🥰x
I'd build a corner shelf on the right hand side of the window, just to stop the everything straight against each wall. I know it'll still be against the wall, but, if you 'corner' it, it will draw your eye round, ideal for shoes, bags, baskets for belts etc etc
I assembled mine with liquid nails on every screw and the backing board etc (just thin beads) so it’s not visible. Makes it SOOOOOOOO much stronger. Just have to be careful during assembly to not make a mess.
Happy New Year Shade to you and Rob!! Missed you over the festive season and hope you both had a lovely time with family. Your walk-in dressing room is going to be stunning when fully completed. Have you thought about using the billy bookcases on the wall facing the wardrobes to display those special pieces. Not sure if there is enough space. Love the island. All the best for 2024❤
Thanks so much! I didn't think of using a Billy bookcase actually that would have been a great idea .. hmm now I'm thinking if I should swap out the ladder shelf I got xx
I love your space! How did you anchor the wardrobes to the wall? I live in Mexico and we do not use drywall, and I am scared of anchoring things to the wall because the holes tend to be bigger for brick walls, do you have any tips?
sorry i didn't show this very well i think i was fed up at this point 🤣 we used drywall plugs but they work even better for brick wall. you won't need a big hole to do this so it should be fine.
Who told you you talk too much?! You’re a communicator and don’t just chat for the hell of it, you give information! Those who have a problem with that can always turn the sound off 😆 I’ve had Ikea pax wardrobes, Ikea kitchen and sofas for over ten years (they all went together like a dream and have been in daily use) and nothing - I repeat nothing! - has broken, chipped or worn out. My only gripe was their “customer service” when we had problems with one drawer front (built back to front so their fault) and had to return it - they were incredibly rude! Other people I know have also whinged about their “customer service” too regards wrong or bad fittings packs and the rude and unhelpful approach of “customer service” when trying to get the right bits. To end on the positive though, someone I know who build lots of different manufacturers flat-packs for lots of different customers, prefers to Ikea over other more expensive stuff - says the quality of the Ikea stuff is noticeable
Hahaha thank you! Ooh I’ve never had to deal with CS yet - hopefully I won’t have to🙈 I agree! I think IKEA quality is only getting better as well. Just treat it well 😊
As you’ve cut the carpet to fit the base, I just wonder if the carpet will now start to sag/roll as it has nothing keeping it stretched in place? 😢 Great vid, very inspirational.
I think ikea products are fine they have a lower range mid range and high quality range all made out of different quality materials to suit different budgets and lifestyle now some are made to build once and once only and others are made to move and adapt with you for instance there are a few products that are hollow and have nothing but a piece of cardboard in them and others are solid wood something people tend to forget is the benefits of ikea is if a piece breaks you can literally buy that one piece that one panel you can pick up a new screw and this is where they win ,but if people dismantle them carefully they can go back together easily and can last a very very very long time ,as for the carpet always cut it and take it away but don’t throw it away again some people don’t realise you can call a carpet guy to lay that back down and Seam it together and nobody would know it has ever been cut shade save the carpet and underlay and store in a dry place ,as for lighting well done hun always go for lighting makes a huge difference.
People: “You talk too much, show more DIY” Also People: “ You didn’t explain what you did, can you do a detailed video” Annoying af Please talk all damn day. Love.

Oh my gosh I LOVE the idea of the newel posts on the sides. That would really set this apart. I'm going to have to get designing. Thanks lovely!
That dead space next to the window would also be perfect for handbags storage
Thats something you have to be careful with as sunlight bleaches items, i keep my bags in their dustbags for that very reason
That’s such a good shout thank you for saying that because I wouldn’t haven’t thought!
@chezabelle you're right! I didn't think that corner would get direct sunlight but if it does then yes absolutely
Looks great, you both did a great job. Looking forward to seeing next steps. And btw, you don't talk too much, love a chatty video 🤎

Hi! Great job. Did you secure the base to the wall or floor before putting the wardrobes on top? Thanks x
Looks lovely can’t wait to see the finished article. What size is your room please as mine looks of a similar size, been a dumping ground for 5 years, you have motivated me to get it sorted.
❤ how about corner shelves to display pretty handbags where you took out the cabinet by the entrance? Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Think that would look so 🥰
Love the video & mirror. You could do a walnut vinyl wrap cover for the island. Fyi b&q have a free cutting service x
Perfection as always ,it is going to look amaz😮ng, what a space for all your clothes. Happy New year x
Happy New Year missed you , I hope you’re doing well. GOD BLESS 🙏🏾💖🥰💯💫

Hello, great video! Just a small question. When you trimmed the carpet to secure the base into the floor. Did you have to secure the carpet in anyway?
Gorgeous mirror ❤
Isn't it! Think it will be the perfect addition when it comes to the walls being painted, etc. 🥰
@@ShadeShannon and definitely do the island top to match
We love having a natter with you. Happy New Year. 😁
love that 😘
What a transformation its going to b amazing 🥰
Wow great job. Do you hace a link to the corner clamp gadget you were using when doing the base framework please?
Have you looked at the lack unit wall shelf for shoes from ikea

Beautiful beginnings ❣️
Thank you! 😊
We have 3 IKEA PAX wardrobes that have lasted 20 years and they have been taken down and rebuilt a couple of times.
Hi shade, your dressing room looks great. 👌
Thank you! 😊
Love the chat!!!
need to do more of it it seems!
I love your new wardrobe! What about adding a wood design on the doors?
That's the plan ...can't wait. Just need to source some nice detailed wood for an affordable price because everything is very expensive these days!
I love your space! How did you anchor the wardrobes to the wall? I live in Mexico and we do not use drywall, and I am scared of anchoring things to the wall because the holes tend to be bigger for brick walls, do you have any tips?

Fab but very worried you have your electric wire running by the cutting blade x

I apologize but where did you purchase your beautiful mirror??
No worries - it's from a company called William Woods Mirrors
