Should work. Funny .. these demos seem to have no scrutiny or overview by Valve for Steam Deck. It would be a pretty easy switch flip for Valve to include the requisite during the install. But I guess that's the way of Demos.
Thanks for the video! I was just wondering if the components installed throughout the winetricks process should be deleted manually if I wanted to delete the game itself. Could you give me a heads-up about the decluttering method? Or will other games that require C++ be able to use these assets?
To my knowledge this installs the Windows components into that prefix for that game only. So uninstalling the game or deleting the game prefix folder should remove all traces of that install. Hence why you would need to do this process( ie. use protontricks) for any games you need them for that are broken.
Thanks for your reply! I have never used protontricks beforehand, I installed it exclusively for this game, good to know it saves me lots of headache of disk cleaning haha
@@AidinZolghadr Oh, I don't remember. I read a lot of Deck trades, haunt Reddit daily ... I'm sure it was in there somewhere. Typically speaking you would just start with the newest one and work your way down - for a newer game. OId stuff? You do trial and error.
Jus keep clicking oku until done... And that describes a good 80% of windows admins I've met... Don't spoil their secret!
Glad I subbed, gonna try this for CYGNI demo as that has the same error

@Darkuni this worked, thank you!
Yay! Thanks a lot. I am very excited to see a video about performance.
Demos are typically unoptimized .. not sure I'll cover the demo, but I'll be there day one when it ships.
@@Darkuni thanks! Looking forward to it
Thank you, worked. You have to start BOTH Apps though... 😅
Thanks for the video!

I try but Protontricks show error can't work, so what can I do to fix C++?
You need to install the BETA version of proton tricks. I'll have a video up later tonight about it.
@@Darkuni Thanks, waiting your update
I have same error, but on win10, it is possible fix with same way? thanks
Windows 10 on the Steam Deck? That's not really my bag ...
@@Darkuni its probably trouble with Windows Update what was unsuccesfully installed, and I try reinstall Windows without changing and reupdate.
How are you supposed to know which version it requires.
The retail version doesn't require this. Just follow the video here if you want the demo ...
@@Darkuni I'm asking for the demo.
@@AidinZolghadr I'm not sure I understand. Is the video not clear on what you should be installing?
@@DarkuniMy question is how did you find out which version of VC++ you needed to install.
