I think the shows hiting to rue being extremely childish and selfish before going to rehab in flashbacks you can really see how toxic she actually was. I don’t think she was protecting anybody at that time but she’s definitely grown a lot

I would definitely have to disagree with the episode where Rue is being a detective as "light-hearted"... She is spiraling in mania and depression the whole time, was very dark

Yeah I noticed that Cassie (and Lexi) have more classically feminine looks for their hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Basically Girl Next Door, a few tweaks can take them to different decades, or make them part of Archie Comics.
As a trans girl, the scene of Jules in her pink ATOMIC crop top and panties made me sob. I’ve never seen such honest but flattering representation of young adult trans women. That scene made me feel so much better about my body, I have such horrible genital dysphoria and it really really helped. It just shows how important representation really is.
Just reiterating what many of us know, but people who are trans deserve love, kindness, and most of all, acceptance. I hope we get more positive representation for all of the people who could use reassurance that others like them exist and are loved.
As some one who is in the professional realm of make-up, yes. I had been feeling the tides of change pulsing for a while, prior to Euphoria. I could see more people were starting to abandon the rigid multi-layered "insta-baddie" caked on flawless look in make up, to a more natural--yet creative and fun approach. The glossier crowd started adding more color to the eyes/funky eyeliners in the winter/spring of '19, and I feel like once Euphoria showcased creativity again into make-up, it was like a breathe of fresh air. And I am totally here for it, I love seeing creativity, expression and even dichotomy in make-up, as it should be. Make-up is fun and creative, if you wanna have a fresh face an bold eye, do it, if you want to be a bad bish, do it, experiment, have fun. I hope the new 20's brings in an era of self expression and creativity we haven't seen before in fashion, hair and make-up, we have the tools, lets use them!!

arina is ok it’s not meant to be body shaming. (Or maybe she is being asshole lol). But The reason models are all “toothpicks” is because they can kinda wear anything if that makes sense. Designers want to work with models who have “no curves” because their body won’t distract from the outfit. So it makes since that Zendaya can kinda wear anything because she has the model figure body type.

Euphoria was a visual treat all around! It needs an Emmy or Golden Globe because not only did the looks SERVE, but they also had meaning / character behind them. Wasn’t just “oh this looks cute”, I love this show!!!
I love how maddie wears matching sets all the time. It's really her character to look very polished and put-together and a matching set with laser sharp eyeliner is a really well thought through costume decision

The makeup blew me away, they cleverly made that the staple of their show, without it having to be set in some crazy alt universe. Every look was mesmerizing to look at, and flattered every actress perfectly. Not to mention how well it played into the narrative of the show. Definitely the best show to come out of 2019 so far.

I have been waiting for SOMEONE to review euphoria’s fashion/makeup because it’s so iconic and I felt like no one was talking about it and then here comes hautelemod and I’m like FINALLY GODDAMN
It's so exciting to me to see a show that truly embraces fashion and makeup as crucial elements of the storyline and character development instead of just background info. Girls nowadays are really using makeup and clothing as tools for empowerment in a way that wasn't really done in previous generations (outside of counter-culture movements). We're using clothing and makeup to tell stories about ourselves and our bodies and it's really cool to me to see Euphoria acknowledging that. I really hope they get a second season because the fashion narrative alone is enough to make me want more, and that's aside from how much i'm addicted to the show from a psychological standpoint.
The Rue detective look makes me giggle because detectives do wear a harness like that specifically to conceal their gun holster on their upper body (which is then hidden by a jacket, or the 1940s Pulp Noir Trench coat). So the harness makes "sense" but what's funny about it is it looks odd because there is no gun holster. It's like they wanted the "look" of a classic detective, but then somehow decided halfway through the outfit that they couldn't have a gun involved.
Kat reminds me of great Greecian poets who deem women's article of clothing as different specific pieces of battle armor that is similar to what men wear to battle. She's ready to get down and she has probably used the time to style her clothes for the day as a warrior chooses their arsenal for battle.

Out of highschool for 10 years, went to a pretty good public school, and people were wearing with suuuuper low-cut jeans, short skirts, thongs showing, offensive t-shirts etc. However most people didn't dress that way, and perhaps some people were written up and I just didn't know about it.
I think you may have missed the fact that each characters signature lock is in the color red/burgundy and the color is symbolic of strength and courage which is why you find them wearing the color in self-empowerment scenes.
The girls in my hometown have been wearing oversized t shirts with biker shorts that desappear underneath the outfit, making it look like they forgot their pants. They always have that body lenguage... they feel like the coolest girl in the world. I had no Idea it was Rue's influence until I started watching euphoria. That also explains the tennis skirts at forever21 lol
Kat’s dance outfit was actually modeled after Betty Page,a very famous pin up model who later in life regretted ever posing nude or in bondage. The dance happened after Kats weird encounter with the client using the voice changer, we don’t ever see her camming again after that. I believe Kat, like Betty regretted what she did.
maddie and jules fits were most definitely my favourite and the closest to what i like wearing sometimes. kat was too much red (i dont wear red really not my colour) and rue was too masculine for me, im traditionally very feminine. but i liked how all their styles reflected them and their journey's, thats great on the costume designers part.

It's so exciting to me to see a show that truly embraces fashion and makeup as crucial elements of the storyline and character development instead of just background info. Girls nowadays are really using makeup and clothing as tools for empowerment in a way that wasn't really done in previous generations (outside of counter-culture movements). We're using clothing and makeup to tell stories about ourselves and our bodies and it's really cool to me to see Euphoria acknowledging that. I really hope they get a second season because the fashion narrative alone is enough to make me want more, and that's aside from how much i'm addicted to the show from a psychological standpoint.
The Rue detective look makes me giggle because detectives do wear a harness like that specifically to conceal their gun holster on their upper body (which is then hidden by a jacket, or the 1940s Pulp Noir Trench coat). So the harness makes "sense" but what's funny about it is it looks odd because there is no gun holster. It's like they wanted the "look" of a classic detective, but then somehow decided halfway through the outfit that they couldn't have a gun involved.
Kat reminds me of great Greecian poets who deem women's article of clothing as different specific pieces of battle armor that is similar to what men wear to battle. She's ready to get down and she has probably used the time to style her clothes for the day as a warrior chooses their arsenal for battle.

Out of highschool for 10 years, went to a pretty good public school, and people were wearing with suuuuper low-cut jeans, short skirts, thongs showing, offensive t-shirts etc. However most people didn't dress that way, and perhaps some people were written up and I just didn't know about it.

I think you may have missed the fact that each characters signature lock is in the color red/burgundy and the color is symbolic of strength and courage which is why you find them wearing the color in self-empowerment scenes.

The girls in my hometown have been wearing oversized t shirts with biker shorts that desappear underneath the outfit, making it look like they forgot their pants. They always have that body lenguage... they feel like the coolest girl in the world. I had no Idea it was Rue's influence until I started watching euphoria. That also explains the tennis skirts at forever21 lol
Kat’s dance outfit was actually modeled after Betty Page,a very famous pin up model who later in life regretted ever posing nude or in bondage. The dance happened after Kats weird encounter with the client using the voice changer, we don’t ever see her camming again after that. I believe Kat, like Betty regretted what she did.
maddie and jules fits were most definitely my favourite and the closest to what i like wearing sometimes. kat was too much red (i dont wear red really not my colour) and rue was too masculine for me, im traditionally very feminine. but i liked how all their styles reflected them and their journey's, thats great on the costume designers part.
