I don't know how to describe it, but the enunciation on "Burn My Dread" during the chorus was so powerful. Great cover! I'm totally going to be listening to this a lot.
I admit while the song is good, it kinda tripped me up the "god of fear" section was changed from the original "I once ran away from the god of fear and he chained me to despair"
The original singer pronounced the word despair with an added syllable (more like "des-pai-er") which sounds odd to english speakers and fixing it would break the rhythm of the song and used the line from the 2nd verse twice
Would it really have been so difficult? It sounds to me like she sings 'Dis-pair-ah' in the original. I don't think it would have been jarring at all to leave in...and well...I really like that part of the song so I was sad it wasn't included is all...
I hoped to find someone who also feel strange because of changing escaping from god part to throwing him to hell. Seems like it hurts only my ears(comented here because it's closest to theme)

There's something unique about Japanese timbre. Also, I like this arrangement a lot, but I can't imagine it in the game. It's its own thing. As a stand-alone song, I like this version more than the original, but in the context of the game I feel the Japanese vocalists stand poetically and understand the context of the songs more than English covers do. At the end of the day, this is the ramblings of a random man, but it's how I personally feel. Note that this feeling has to do with nationality and native tongue, not language itself

Persona 3, 4, and 5 have soundtracks that are lyrically almost entirely English, and the artists they choose to perform are picked specifically because they can do those lyrics justice. There's no innately Japanese aspect in any of their performances because that kind of thing really doesn't exist racially. Plenty of non-Japanese speakers can sing Japanese just like native speakers and vice-versa, and it's worth evaluating why you think otherwise.

Good series you should play it, 3 is probably the best place to start but starting with anything after 2 makes it harder to go back to 1/2
