elton john on piano, Pavoratti singing, and Eric Clapton playing guitar, all on the same stage.. This is the closes man has ever come to perfection and will never happen again on the scale of this epicness
one of the best duets i have ever heard. pavarotti what a tragic loss rest in peace we love you a great tenor and a great man. elton just improves with age he is wonderful and the ultimate performer
@HankBenton My life changed after the day I met Pavarotti. Now, because of him, I´m an opera singer. So you´re right, some artists take your emotions to another level... This song is so beautiful, and Elton John with Pavarotti did it even better.
This is most beutifull song ive ever heard. Pavaortii just makes a massive different, his timbre breaks me, and elton john just plays with my mind. And Bernie Taupin lyrics, and clapton playing in the back. Just the whole pack makes this such a good song
it would have to be one of the most moving duets i have ever listened to. with pavarotti dying not long after this, he was a magnificent human being and had the voice of an angel. elton never ceases to amaze me he is wonderful to duet with the best tenor of our time and hold his own, bravo and god bless them both.
Listen to this one. As many times as it takes to make you kneel on the ground, and understand this as it was intended to be. Long live this video and the compostition of music and musicians that made it possible.
THE ORGINAL WAS ABOUT SOMEONE WITH AIDS. THE B;OOF DURGING HROUGH HIS BONES WAS TAINTED, AND LEDING HIM TO HIS DEATH. `HE JUST WANTED TO BE FREE OF HID BODY AND LIVE LIKR HORSES. ``I AM BEING TESTED FOR SOMEÊÓING TAHT COULD BE A DEATRH SENTENCE, DON.T THINK IÊ IS. EITHER WAY,THE ISEA OD HAVING THIS BODY WHICH NEVRE LETS ME SIT IN COMFORT FOR FOR ÊHE REST OF MY LIFE, IS NOÊ APPEALING. I`F ON COULD LIV FR OF ONE.S BODY, JUST EXIST IN SSPIRITUAL FORM, ÊÓÈNK OF ALL THE ANXIEITIES AND PAIN THAT WOULD REMOVED AS A PERPETUAL WORRY.
johnchannetshow : It happens that "those black people you hate" are the Chorus, and I must say that almost every black people has really good voice. I love those chorus. Pavarotti well, he was just the best Tenor of our time. It was a honour to live in the same time that he did. Not just listened him as very future generations will do.Like an history Tenor. (I don´t know if what i said make sence to you ). BRAVO ELTON AND PAVAROTTI!!!
pieries, my godfather sang with him at the met in the 70's and even though my godfather was not a star he said that pavarotti was really excellent with the other singers (no matter their billing) and extremely respectful...he had high standards but he showed lots of respect...not known as a back biter...class act
Luciano was an incredible person. There is no other opera singer who worked with such people like Elton, Spice Girls, Bono, Queen, Ricky Martin and many more rock/pop musicians. Pavarotti did many more than others opera people and it was much more important. There were no limits for Him. R.I.P In POLAND we'll remember You forever!!
As large as he was, there just wasn't enough of Pava to go around! He gave us everything he had until his body simply gave out--and still left us wanting more. I miss him so---
Sir Elton John, "The One" since long, long time ago. He's been the soundtrack of my entire life since 1972. There's no way... He's born to win. Blessings to him.
La promessa non fu chiara - The promise was unclear S'era solo impressa in me - It was only written in me Vidi solo il gelo dentro me - I only saw the cold inside me Quella notte disse a me - that night told to me Vivrem come cavalli - we will live like horses Liberi dai recinti di ferro - free from iron fences Che piu' non voglio - I don't want anymore Rinnegare i sensi - deny my senses Su dai fuggiam - let's flee Vivrem comme cavalli - we will live like horses
Fantastic song, sung by, not only the composer, but one of the greatest tenors of all time...AND "backed" up by Liza, Sheryl Crow, Joan Osborne, John Secada...and those are just those that are visible as the camera "pans"...(not including all those not mentioned)..meaning the great members of the orchestra and "band"... Are you kidding...what a stage of unbelievable, God-given talent...
I'm so glad all of those fabulous musicians got to sing with The Maestro before he passed. Loved everything about this performance, especially the audience who had come to see their heroes together for maybe the last time in their lives.
i absolutely agree with you they have such diversity and even exceed the beatles songwqriting duo. they have longevity and have more songs that were not bastardised for the popular market. as a lone songwriter and singer neil diamond must rate with the best cheers john
I recently bought the Greatest Hits box of Elton John, with his hits from 1970something till 2002, I believe, and this song is (even better mixed, they even sing bits together with different heights etc etc, completely devine) on the third cd. There's also a great version of Elton and George Michael and Elton and Alessandro Safina on it. Buy it or download it, especially the third cd has a lot of greeeeeeat songs with other artists, incredible. :)
When luciano Pavarotti sang people were just in awe just so beautiful and effortless the greatest singer to have lived will never be another one.. In hundreds of years people will still listening,,, RIP luciano and thankyou for sharing your gift
Pavarotti Elton John Your marvelous and the course is absolutely gorgeous and I love the musicians this is a lovely song kind of reminds me of me I've been blue most of my life depression and I died several times and I'm fighting today with everything I have like a wild horse doing great today at age 59 Elton John Pavarotti I've been listening to your music since a child
i am the biggest fan of both pavaroti and elton john if i can be so bold, but please this really is stunning i am totaly blown away to date by far the ultimate duet i love them yours always clint
Pavarotti was perhaps the most humble singer of all times.. a talent like this but still trying to hug everyone on stage after the performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pavarotti was one of the greatest Tenor voices in the world, that with Elton John's style puts this in the ranking of very unique & greatest performances. Also notice the two groups of "guest" back up singers behind Pavarotti notice they are talking & the one guy directly behind Pavarotti "mocks" him with the gestures. How disrespectful can they be? Being on stage as a back up singer for the world's most renowned & greatest Tenor Singers should have been an Honor, How disrespectful can they be??
Elton has a brilliant new album The Union, with Leon Russell, his best since the 70s. One catchy number from the deluxe version, on youtube, is Mandalay Again.
I just saw Elton John in concert for the 6th time. He and I are close to the same age, and I feel like his music has followed his life and mine, since he began performing. I have been touched by more of his songs than one could count. To me he is the most brilliant modern day musician, and one of 4 people I would have loved to just shake hands with. I wish I could tell him what an impact he has had on my life. His music has been there, through thick and thin. This song, though, in particular, touches something deep inside of me, and its arguably my favorite and that says a lot. In fact, when I do pass away some day, my memorial will be very unusual. It will be casual, held in my beautiful back yard with close family and friends and my pastor, and my ashes buried with my beloved dog, Ruby, given to me by God to fill the loss left by my brothers suicide. It is my wish that this song be played, outside, by Ruby's grave before my ashes are buried with her. Elton, you have given me many years of laughter, good tears, comfort and peace, and I thank you. It feels like I'm losing very dear a friend, but Elton John, you deserve to rest. Thank you for saying good by to your millions of fans in such a classy way, and for the true love you show through your actions and music.
Touching and joyful, this Taupin-John ballad is a credible call for individuality and freedom in the sense of that state. Pavarotti approaches this with charisma and effortless delivery. His to project from a hushed whisper into a full-throttle chest voice is solid. Elton is no slouch here either, and both his piano playing and singing is emotional. Together these 2 deliver something special that explodes into an epic masterpiece by the time the song concludes and feet starting jumping up&down.
There is something so touching about this performance. Pavarotti doesn't NEED to sing an entire concert when he isnt feeling well, nor does Elton John NEED to give up so much time rehearsing and performing this concert... But they do it to help under-privileged children in countries where they would have no hope at life. They are the wonderful people on this earth, and so is anyone else who can help people in such a way. The singing was beautiful as well. Thank you so much maestros.
Sadly I was very young to be in such shoes and now once I grew up and became independent I cannot see Pavarotti live phenomenal performance ... RIP Pavarotti and thanx for your art 🌸
One of John and Taupin's best "unknown hits."
Beautiful song - Luciano now lives and sings with angels. Our loss but a great addition to the heavenly choir. Mille grazie, Luciano!
❤❤❤
Elton John is the greatest of them all! Luciano has a great voice. R.I.P.
Pavarotti blows them all away. Rip sir your music will live forever.
So effortless, so gentle and yet so powerful. One in a billion man.
Luciano Pavarotti - One in 7 Billion. never be another.
One in all history
elton john on piano, Pavoratti singing, and Eric Clapton playing guitar, all on the same stage.. This is the closes man has ever come to perfection and will never happen again on the scale of this epicness

Pavarotti - God sang through this man!
I carried my mums coffin out to this. It's the first time I've been able to listen to it all the way through. 6 years and I miss you everyday x
I'm sorry for your loss. What a beautiful song to have at her funeral

@HankBenton My life changed after the day I met Pavarotti. Now, because of him, I´m an opera singer. So you´re right, some artists take your emotions to another level... This song is so beautiful, and Elton John with Pavarotti did it even better.
Lucia

Nobody, and I mean nobody will ever beat or be as near as good as Pavarotti, the guy just a legend by his voice.
Mario Lanza .
Elton King!
Also Pavarotti King !
it would have to be one of the most moving duets i have ever listened to.

BRAVO ELTON AND PAVAROTTI!!!
This is one of the most beutifull songs ever made in the history of music
elton dedicated his song THE BRIDGE during his concert in vevey , switzerland , on 8th september 2007 . god bless both elton & luciano !
pieries, my godfather sang with him at the met in the 70's and even though my godfather was not a star he said that pavarotti was really excellent with the other singers (no matter their billing) and extremely respectful...he had high standards but he showed lots of respect...not known as a back biter...class act
two greatest musicians in the world!!!!!
Perfect.Pavarotti was the best in his registre and Elton too
I don't care what anyone says. That was absolutely amazing.
Neither can I. And i'm so regret i'm not an italian or I wasn't there.... Pavarotti forever!!
Pavarotti is Pavarotti... he did'nt need anything. He is he, so how Elton did.
Two great musicians. So beautiful.

As large as he was, there just wasn't enough of Pava to go around! He gave us everything he had until his body simply gave out--and still left us wanting more.
I miss him so---
I personality think they both have equal talent. Plus I think everyone does miss him, since he was so gifted as a singer.
Sir Elton John, "The One" since long, long time ago. He's been the soundtrack of my entire life since 1972. There's no way... He's born to win. Blessings to him.
So much joy and freedom here! Awesome!
La promessa non fu chiara - The promise was unclear
S'era solo impressa in me - It was only written in me
Vidi solo il gelo dentro me - I only saw the cold inside me
Quella notte disse a me - that night told to me
Vivrem come cavalli - we will live like horses
Liberi dai recinti di ferro - free from iron fences
Rinnegare i sensi - deny my senses
Su dai fuggiam - let's flee
Vivrem comme cavalli - we will live like horses
I don't deny that for a second. This was a great performance. And, as a lover of classical music and great talent, I miss Mr. P. very much.
jak słucham płaczę och jak bardzo tęsknię

Panie Boże Jezu Chryste przebacz mi

It isn't a duet if there are 50 people.
we miss you so much Luciano... your voice...your soul....you'll be always in the air
I'm so glad all of those fabulous musicians got to sing with The Maestro before he passed. Loved everything about this performance, especially the audience who had come to see their heroes together for maybe the last time in their lives.

Man. 2 Oscar winners (Liza Minnelli and Elton John) got a chance to perform with Pavarotti in this gig. Bellissimo !!

Dude It’s not just a song. It’s an experience
Pavarotti is a legend! What a voice, and the combination with sir Elton makes it great! This song hits me straight in the heart!
Pavarotti was one of the greatest Tenor voices in the world, that with Elton John's style puts this in the ranking of very unique & greatest performances. The man directly behind Pavarotti is Zucherro, they were very close friends. They performed together many times. I'm sure it was in good fun.
Harold from the Miami beach libreria. I love it
How amazingly unusual! Thanks for all of those and thanks to all who participated in this spectacle.
Elton has a brilliant new album The Union, with Leon Russell, his best since the 70s. One catchy number from the deluxe version, on youtube, is Mandalay Again.
My favorite song from Elton John, and singing with Luciano Pavarotti.
My God, it's a dream.
Two Words: Pure Magic!
Veramente belissìmo , Pavarotti vs Elton Jhon , tantissìmi auguriii .
A real masterpiece
My good livin spirit what a duo gave me the frills (goosebumps)

How could this not touch your heart and soul?
Fabulous!! The studio version of this song is on Elton's 'The Big Picture' album, which is one of my favorites.
