I finish up my Targa Top repair by doing an armature Vinyl Wrap.

How well timed. I'm looking to do the same to my C5 Corvette Targa top. The current glass one roasts me alive in my car, even with a heavy tint. Going to do a similar carbon fiber finish on it. Carbon fiber would be cooler but... this is a cheap track car so who cares!

I got both the vinyl wrap and gray diamond pleated vinyl upholstery from ebay. There is a link in the description box for the vinyl wrap the other material you will have to search.

Is it hard to get the metal trim off? I see replacements online that are just rubber that has to be glued not sure how that would work with vinyl though 🤷‍♂️

No it's not hard, I believe I go over it in one of my videos on repairing the targa top. Just take a piece of wood and tap along the edge.

Hello! I have a plexiglass targa top on a 1996 Vette. The Plexiglass has some cracks here and there. Should I prepare this top with Bondo where the cracks are, sand it, smooth it, clean it as you've done. I'm worried about the imperfections showing through the wrap is the point of my question.

I am not sure if you should use Bondo on clear top or not, they are not plexiglass, there Lexon or acrylic, I would look for something for repairing that type of material, look at the Bondo and see if says you can use on the container. Good 🤞
