- This is the 7th video in our series on the history of the Currie Cup. This week we look back at the mid to late 90's when we saw four different teams winning the cherished cup. Natal won it back to back in 1995 and 1996, followed by WP, The Blue Bulls and The Golden Lions in 1999. This period probably delivered some of the best Currie Cup finals of any era. Our personal favourite is the 1998 epic between The Blue Bulls and Western Province.

Loved seeing the games from this era when I was in my 20's and had more time to watch the Currie Cup. So many big names, some of them you only need one name (first name, surname or nickname) to know who they are: Juba, Joost, Muir, La Croix, Skinstadt (although I wasn't a big fan I felt he was a bit of a poiseur but really respected his talent and the fact that he didn't care about what chops like me thought about him), Helgaard (hope I spelled that right), Flawless Lawless, Small, Chester! and so many others. Also the great Reuben Kruger making an appearance there at the end of a match.
Plz do something similar for Rugby Championship, 6/5nations, Heineken Cup, and RWC. Really been enjoying these videos.

1996: Natal
1997: Western Province
1998: Blue Bulls
1999: Lions
