@@joycevanoordtyori4852 I've done YWOW and enjoyed the puzzle as it was very affordable for the quality. I still wish if companies used stock photos, that they would like the photographer on the box (if it is known).
I have done 4 Castorland and really enjoyed them all (500, 1000, 1500 and 4000). One of my favourite all time puzzles is Girl's Day Out by Castorland - the dresses and accessories, the sky, the bench, just a really fun image to do. The 4000pc came in 3 bags, all same piece cut so if you mix them you will have perfect false fits.
Thank you - that's good to know about the 4,000 piece one. I would like to do more of this brand if I could find an image that I like. A bigger piece count one is what I would aim to do.
Congratulations on the 32000 subs. Amazing and you deserve it. I have one Castorland puzzle - think 1500 - it's a wolf howling at the moon. It's called 'Wolf's Night'. I opened it up when I got it quite a while ago and didn't really like the thin pieces. I will probably eventually get to it. I like the Santorini image though.
I agree that the feel/texture/thickness/print quality of a puzzle piece really affects the entire puzzling experience. I’m not the biggest fan of thin pieces either. 💜🧩
@@fortheloveofpuzzles I managed to put the Visionaria puzzle together on the floor in the living room and get half decent pics - I'm not good with panorama so it is what it is. Santorini is as common a puzzle picture subject as the Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. Don't think you will have a problem finding it in other puzzle brands.
Castorland is a great brand. I have done many of them and not had any problems with missing or damaged pieces. I would recommend Lady in the Purple Dress. It is s a beautiful painting and hands down a better puzzle image that most of the junk out there today.
Oh wow, that Lady in the Purple Dress looks really quite lovely indeed! I really would like to try one of their newer puzzle with a larger piece count.
One of my favorite brands is Castorland. It's one of the best value for money, and a lot of modern pictures have been released this year. I love it, although the fit is generally looser than in your video.
I would love to get my hands on some of their modern images then. I just can't seem to find any that I like here in NZ. This puzzle I had did hold together quite nicely.
I reasently did a Castorland 2000 pieces, old world map. Beautiful illustrated and it came seperated into 2 1000 piece bags. Love the brand, especially, because it is an quite inexpensive one. But I agree there are not so much "modern" images. Love your channel and your funny and kind personality. Keep on going😊
I like how you worded that, their images are not so "modern" - that is a perfect way to describe how I feel about their images also. I'm glad to hear from so many that they are inexpensive. Thanks for watching and commenting!
"Sheen" good word!!! I mention it in one of my upcomgin videos also that has already been recorded but I will try to remember that for next time - thank you!
Nice! I'm told that my puzzle is an older one as the newer Castorland puzzles have a loser fit. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it. Let me know and what's the name of the puzzle please.
I have two 1500 and one 4000 piece of Castorland. For the price I think these are very good. My 4000 piece came in 3 bags, I didn't have problems with false-fits, but maybe that was the image.
@@fortheloveofpuzzles The 4000 I did is called Monemvasia, Greece. I agree on the image choices. It's not my general pick, but I had a good time with the left bag and the center bag, the third on the right was a bit more tricky since there was lots of green.
I've been to Santorini back in 2007. It was my favorite island to see out of the 5 islands I saw on my tour. Santorini is fabulous - definitely go see it. It has a 300-step climb that leads to such amazing views, cafes, restaurants, unlike anything I've ever seen and couldn't have imagined. Like a fantasy place. You can walk up the steps or you can take the mules... yes, mules! It's so fun. Everything there is so beautiful - the homes, views, roads, stores, products, hotels, absolutely everything. So different from ours. One tip: they design everything best for family so travel with 2 people together like sisters and you will get the best hotel suites. If you only travel in pairs - you get the least. That's cause the suites for families are so much bigger and better in every way. It's a family culture so I think that's why.
You really should go and see Lake Taupo, we stayed there camping for a week many, many years ago. It's awesome - and it's a Super volcano like Yellowstone and the Campi Fleigri. My favourite bit of the NI. 😀
I’ve been to Lake Taupo maybe 3 times so far - it is lovely indeed!! I would like to go back again soon. I wonder if that volcano is still potentially active…? 💜🧩
Got curious, as I have some unpuzzled Castorland Jigsaw puzzles in my collection. The boxes for 2000 and 3000 piece jigsaw puzzle are the same size / dimensions. But the box for the 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle is a bit smaller than the boxes for the 2000 and 3000 jigsaw puzzle.
I have 2 of their 4000 built and 1 more 4000 waiting to build. The quality is the best I've ever built. I'm very bad with puzzle dust and have you stated....no puzzle dust!!!!
I've done this image as a Clementoni. It is slightly different as it's in landscape and only 500 pieces. But I feel like I got a dud puzzle because it felt like the Clementoni piece cut we know and love has gotten worse for this puzzle. It was in the new design box so I'm thinking it must have been anew releasy plus there was a lot of and chunky puzzle dust that made the puzzle super loose. In the same purchase I got another Clementoni puzzle in the new size box and it was also very loosy goosy. I'm just not sure if it was a faulty but I haven't gotten any newer released Clementoni puzzles since then.
Oh no!!! I have not yet done a newer Clementoni in their new boxes - something to keep in mind. I really liked Clementoni but if they are cutting costs and producing a lower quality product, I won't be a fan of that!

The word you're looking for is: Satin finish. There's 3 finishes - matte, satin, gloss. These names come from the world of art. If you go to an art supply store into the paint section, and look for a product called Medium (this extends the use of paint colors), you will find them in these 3 categories - matte, satin, gloss. Consider Satin as halfway between matte and glossy (shiny). It's like matte but with a slight shimmer/glow.
Yes!! Thank you so much - Satin!! I really appreciate you sharing this and commenting. I think I goof this up in my next video with a HEYE puzzle but will use satin from now on. 💜🧩
I have done a few Castorland jigsaws and their pieces are smaller. The boxes are really too big for whatever the number of pieces are. I don't find many of their images appealing for me which is why I have done so few of them. I prefer other brands who have a better range of images.
That's my issue too is finding images that I would enjoy doing. Someone else just commented that they released more modern images on their puzzles this year so I will keep looking in hopes of finding a larger piece count one that I enjoy.
Just in time! I was about to order a Castorland with a beautiful image, but false fits are a deal breaker for me. False fits give me "Missing Peace Panic", and that's never fun. Thanks for the honest review.
I do think false fits would be an issue depending on the image - I had them in the sky on this image for example. I would buy them again but make sure it's a busy enough image. 💜🧩

They do the same size box up to 3 thousands, because their 3 thousands and up use teeny-tiny pieces.
