looks like a gimmick - a CNC would be more versital and close to the same price -
the best machine I have seen ever for wood workers
mate i don’t think this is even sold anymore as the company who made it seems to be concentrating on cnc these days i bought one of these ohh has to 10 years ago used it in my start up factory to help me do a lot of different tasks fairly well .
as time went on I bought individual machines to do each task so now it just has an occasional use for flattening slabs I have a 250kg jib crane mounted next to it and regularly flatten pieces of timber to big to fit my jointer or thicknesser.
It really is a solid piece of engineering well thought out and made. just my two cents worth.

This things is sold in damn near 40 different pieces and well over 15,000 grand.
The price is between $4-5500 AUD. (depending on the size) If it’s a local order we deliver completely assembled. Unfortunately given the overall size of the unit it is disassemble and boxed to reduce freight costs. As for 40 parts, you must be counting each bolt.
How much do these usualy go for? Their website only talks about contacting them.

When the circular saw is hanging so far above the workpiece, is there not a huge risk of tearout?
the same risk as if it was full plunge. In fact its less of a risk because full plunge has the teeth travelling at 90 digress to the surface. This way, on the others side you have close to parallel at its break through point.

So they reinvented the radial arm saw. No one buys them anymore I can pick one up on Craigslist for less than 100 bucks

I think the problem with this is whenever you want to switch task you spend probably 5 minutes minimum before you even do anything productive.
10 tasks going back and forth in a day costs you nearly an hour being pretty generous.
In a production shop, you would batch each process, so the setup time wouldn't be that much a burden.
