      Just to clarify. Baklava (Pronounced Bæ-kľ-avÁ) is a traditional Indian dish from the Indian state of Bihar. a bread paste with rice and sauce served with vegetables is a traditional dish carried down from the Ahemebad empire. most likely made in 1522. when grain and paste were introduced to India by silk route traders. Baklava has been a famous culinary dish after since

    Rimini's airport for San Marino actually went bankrupt a few years ago and it only serves a few scattered flights to Moscow and occasionally Tirana probably once a week. The next plausible option would be Ancona or Bologna airports. Most people who travel there just go to Rimini by train or bus and take a bus or a coach or even go by car in San Marino. 👍

    Nice video! One of the places that I think is very interesting that does not have an airport is Kerguelen island. It is a very remote but reasonably large island in the Southern Indian ocean. It is a French territory and only has a reasearch station. They were planning to build an airport at some point but they ditched the plans. The airport would have tradeoffs: on one hand it would cover a significant area of nature, but would make the island much more accessible (it would also be the only airport in a very large area of ocean). Right now you have to take a long boat ride to get there.
    The island has many fiords, lakes, mountains and glaciers. Wildlife includes penguins and other birds (as well as some introduced rabbit and other pest species), plantlife is mostly scrubs. There is also a lot of seals, dolphins, whales etc. The island is quite windy. It is like an uninhabited and more mountainous version of the Falkland islands geographically.
    I would like to visit this strange place sone day :p

      I could see something like that being more likely to get funded if demand for direct SYD-JNB flights or similar grows enough would be right in the middle of the ETOPS dead zone that would prevent anything but a B747 or A380 making such a flight. There are a few random islands in the pacific that ended up with fully equipped large airports pretty much exclusively to serve as diversion airports like that.

    • @unacceptablefringemajority251

    I've been to Andorra, lovely place. I flew to Carcassonne in France and hired a car there. I didn't drive straight to Andorra, but I stayed in a small town a bit south of Carcassonne. If I'd have driven straight from Carcassone airport it would have been just under 3 hours. The drive from France is challenging. You go through very high mountains. At some point I was at a latitude of 1800 metres (just under 6000 feet) when I was approaching Andorra. Roads are very bendy and steep. I live in Scotland, in a hilly area about 90 minutes north of Edinburgh, there are plenty of high hills around here, I've driven further north into the Highlands a few times and only a few days ago I've driven in the hills in a fair amount of snow, so I'm used to something. Yet even for me the drive to Andorra was one of the most challenging ones I've ever done.

    Which of these countries have trainstations? I guess andorra and Lichtenstein might be too mountainous. And is migration to those countries by helicopter a possibility? I mean, you don't need a plane to land in a country. You could even use parachutes.
    Funfact, pilots need a special license to land at Innsbruck airport, because Innsbruck is sorrounded by mountains, too and landing there is quite tricky.

      Monaco does , hence station hairpin (now Loews at the Monaco GP), However its no longer on that side but Underground near the palace. San Marino used to have but its no longer in used though some is preserved closest is in Rimini. Vatican City also does with the station being behind St Peters but I think its largely freight only. Andorra doesn't nearest being 3km away in France. Liechtenstein has a line through it and four stations on it! All 5 have helipads i think.

      Damn I remember hearing about the child sexual assault trials on the Pitcairn islands. Like a third of the men on that island, including the mayor were accused of child molestation or something. Ha ha funny country.

      gotham61 Pitcairn islands and St. Helena aren't countries, they are overseas teritories of the UK.

    @ibx2cat, would it not have been faster to fly to girona costa brava airport to get to andorra?

    • @ibx2cat
      @ibx2cat  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      funnily enough, Ryanair (the only major airline there) call it Barecelona airport, although the reason it's often not faster is it's not as well connected to Andorra in terms of public transport, and not as well connected to the outside world either

    • @michaelkeating8
      @michaelkeating8 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ya i was looking up that myself, Barcelona itself seems to be the better option, i flew into Girona one time thinking it was close to barcelona, then when i was on the bus i saw a sign post for barcelona, i cant remember the distance but i think it was around 130km, i was very naive thinking ryanair would bring me close to the city :D

    Maybe a better solution to the airport in the Vatican City would be for the Church to buy land and build an airport on that. In fact this would be a good solution to many if the other countries except maybe Liechtenstein, Monaco and Andorra as its logistically impossible to do so.

    I wish people would quit saying "San Marino is the only country with more cars than people." This is misleading. It has more REGISTERED cars than people. This is only because so many Italians register their cars in San Marino to avoid high Italian taxes. These cars don't "live" in San Marino.
