So far I’ve spent the last 4 months cutting out all the rust out over the whole T4. The sliding door sill area and bottom of the door is my last major area to do. I’ve started it but it’s a right pain 🤨 was good to see your methods 👍

Thanks for your comment Paul. I wish the sill had been my last area to do. Im currently working on the sliding door. Its really just little patches it needs though so not so bad. I'm replacing the floor area next but the weather here has been terrible for welding outside.

@@neil... I’ve just built a temporary shelter over the whole van due to the weather. It’s a timber frame with a tarp top to keep the rain off. I’ve finished the floor. You can see some shots of it in my video. The vans appear to rust in the same place on the floor. Worst between the floor and chassis members and above the rear suspension mounts where water sprays up off the back wheels. You can get replacement floor sections made in the same wavy profile.

Ill go on and watch your vid later. Just subscribed to your channel. I have a floor cut from a donor van thats better than mine but it still needs patching. Ive had it soaking in citric acid for weeks to help kill the rust on it. I got a floor panel from heritage. Wasn't cheap! I've since been recommended central panels on ebay and can't fault them. Your right the vans all seem to get tinworm in all the same places. Your cover sounds decent with a timber frame. Ive been looking at the clarke garages/tents in machine mart. Look really good for the money. Think ill go that route. Need to save up a bit first.

Just watched your video mate. Couldn't comment on it though? Your van was about as bad as mine! You've put me to shame getting all that done in 6 months. Well done 👍

@@neil... I’ve tried several times to enable comments but It won’t work. Would be good for it to work as then people could help with ideas for how to do some things I’m having issues with.

Welding looks better than your plumbing Nelly

Thanks David. It seems to be a common place for the rust to set in. Hope you have somewhere indoors to work on yours. The weather is against us now.

@@neil... I don't unfortunately. I'm going to speak to a guy tomorrow about the welding. Its cost £150 in panels so far 😭

Where do you get your panels from? I've seen quite a few ill fitting ones. Central panels on ebay make a good panel at a decent enough price. Id recommended them.

@@neil... I got them from heritage. They look decent quality and there galvo plated so should last I hope 👍

I bought a floor panel from heritage before someone recommended central panels to me. I haven't used it yet but plan to in a video very soon.

What magnet we you using there

Hi Jonlee, they are magnets i had borrowed. I managed to pause the video and the brand is "Power craft". Ive searched for them to send you a link but can't find them. Search welding magnet on Ebay or Amazon and loads come up. 🧲
