    My wife wanted one. I advised agaisnt it. Now shes got one in all black, and I keep saying "Ill drive" when we need to go somewhere together, in race mode of course. One thing about the screen you didnt mention is that you can customise it so the your favourite settings will stay on the screen for easy access. For instance it can be configured in such a way that seat heater button is always on the right bottom corner then its just one click away instead buried within the menu. One problem that remains though is when you plug in your phone google still takes over the whole screen and you'll need to press a button to switch between google/car screen. Toyota may not be in trouble now but if they still havent delivered their orders by the time GWM has launched the Tank 500 in Australua, they will be.

    19:55 I looked at the Audi Q3 fastback and test drove it before testing the H6. It couldn’t match the list of features including no sunglasses holder and no autonomous parking. It’s also $20k dearer.

    • @therightcar

      Fair points. It’s a nicer car to drive by $20000 in my opinion.

    I also don't like coupe SUVs, but as these things go, this one is actually not bad looking.
    It does seem that GWM are doing something right with their interiors. I drove the Ora last week and it's interior wasn't just good for the price, it was just plain good at any price.

    I 100% agree on the back badges! I googled though and a chrome delete or just taking the badges off altogether helps a lot. I think the colour choice is a big thing too, less contrast to the lack of colour coding, like the darker silver etc. Great review thanks!

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for that - yep, I’ve seen a few with debadged rear ends, and rebadged ones too.

    Fine review Mat, though I felt you were determined to find fault, with what is an amazing car for the price. To get those interior appointments such as a HUD, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof and the best quality in cameras for parking, you would be looking another $40k extra. Also, pretty much every new car has the HVAC controls on their main screens as well. Don't mention how to open the glove box on a Tesla!

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mate, I wasn’t determined to find fault, the faults presented themselves without much investigation required.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one then, I've never understood the concept of a 'Coupe SUV'! The last time I checked, a coupe only had 2 doors! The other thing I don't like about Coupe SUV's is that the coupe part eats into the cargo area, making it less practical when compared to a traditional SUV and there is no rear wiper! OK, Audi does offer this, but not others, the Renault Arkana I'm looking at you .... I believe a rear wiper is still a must for these types of vehicles, coupe or not! I've driven the Renault Arkana and I didn't warm to the engine/trans combo or the cramp rearview set up!
    Haval needs to sort out it's badging! I know they're released a new 'HAVAL' badge, but as you've mentioned, there are too many badges on the back of these things! I've also seen a number of GWM Haval Jolions that have been de-badged and the result is a much cleaner look on the back! A lady down the road from me has bought one of these and in this colour, but I'm still not sold on them! The wheels look a little too small, especially when the grey plastic cladding around the wheels arches seem too over sized!
    It may offer a lot of kit for the buck, but I'm still not sold on Chinese built cars and for me, it's the way they drive, their handling, the way all the technology works and question marks over their long term reliability. For people who have already taken that plunge into the unknown, good luck to you.

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, thanks for the comment. The badges would be an easy fix. And you’ve hit the mark on Arkana.

    I've watched all your reviews of GWM cars and the one thing you don't complain about is build quality. You're mostly annoyed by the infotainment screen but the things you don't like are minor. You could turn the seat and steering wheel heating on before driving.
    The one thing I agree with you on is the DCT gearbox. I don't understand why Chinese carmakers love DCTs. I think even CVTs would be better. But I wouldn't pay almost twice the price of this car for the Audi because it's not twice the car.

      @@therightcar - easy to answer, look at stock levels, nearly all the "driveaway" Haval H6/H6 GT models are MY2022 build, GWM are having a hard time to get tester drivers converted into sales.
      Eventfully the dealers will have to put rego on them and off load them as undriven demos with the factory giving massive discounts, like i said earlier if they were DA $35,990 they would MOVE very fast from dalerships to owners but at $11,000 more they are not budging, not even the rental fleets want them which tells you a lot about the market thinks about them.
      That said MG have nearly got the rental market to themselves these days with Mitsubishi moving ASX in that segment.

    I've seen your previous review so will be interesting to see what your take is now since you have your own content distribution channel.
    My own subjective review is that its not worth what GWM are asking for it due to lack of engineering in several areas with the BIG one being drivers seating position if you are taller than 6 foot, other issues like poor ride balance and body control together with steering that has some type of voodoo curse on it and the atrocious dual clutch transmission calibration.
    On the plus side? GWM basically give you everything you could ever want in terms of tech and features and the engine is actually very good and i recently found out that its old school MPSEFI and not direct injection which means that it will last the distance provided you do regular service as it runs in between lean (too hot) and rich (to much fuel) and the On-demand AWD is a Haldex Gen 4 system which is great also.
    As I said in the ASX video, take the H6 GT Ultra for a test drive, that said its not worth the DA pricing GWM are asking for it, no where near it.
    95% of the controls are touch screen based so that is something to think about while your in RACE MODE with the Bi-Modal exhaust rumbling away.

    These days people looking for the price than the car itself. For me I will not buy this car, I will go for Japanese or Korean makes, as they had more reliable cars, just look at LDV, more time spending in the dealership workshop than on the road, always had problems with only 60,000kms.
