In the airfield attack video it was a very shallow low level delivery so I only used a 20mil depression. With Zunis I find the main thing that affects sight angle is range to target. Which is, of course, a function of dive angle and altitude. The sight angle decreases as the slant range goes up. In this video I expected to fire them from higher up and farther away so I think I had a bit more deflection on. That being said, I think I may have missed short...
I would have expected a hell of a lot more AAA and SAM sites around their biggest harbor than one little SAM site with a couple of AAA guns. While the flying's nice, love the briefings and pop up maps but it doesn't seem very realistic to everything I've read about actually trying to attack a harbor like that. Should be more along the lines of the Grim Reaper's Canyon Run competitions. Lots of AAA and SAM sites. th-cam.com/video/H3wqcjzXr78/w-d-xo.html
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. I guess I'm probably less worried about strictly "realistic" and more interested in making it fun. I agree with you that it fails the realism test on a whole lot of levels (including the fact that the place names are Russian and that most of the period AAA pieces are not available in DCS in any form). Hopefully that doesn't keep it from being fun to watch, and eventually fun to fly (once I get the mission files cleaned up).
@@Sidekick65 If you ever want to challenge yourself you should be able to add all the extra ground units you want with the mission editor. Did you have a chance to watch the Canyon Run video I attached the link to by the Grim Reapers. Now that looks like fun. I have downloaded the files from them but haven't had a chance to load it up and try it out. The North Vietnamese SAM sites used 5 SA-2 Surface to Air missiles surrounding a central radar station called a "Fansong" radar. That way they could fire multiple missiles for the same radar lock so while the pilots were busy trying to avoid the first one or two missiles they would get hit by the other missiles they launched in succession. As soon as we get some more period era planes for Southeast Asia like the F-4E Phantom I hear they're working on I'm sure a map with all the proper add ons will come along. I've downloaded the A-4E and can't wait to try it out. Good flying and keep'em coming.
I have watched the GR canyon run videos. Fun. The SAM site in the video is actually set up as you describe. There are also about 12 to 15 zu-23 scattered around the harbour. In fact,, in that mission my wingman actually gets hit by flak - but I think it's off camera. Btw if you like you can fly the first mission in the series. Its here www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311399/ It has a scoring system. Let us know how you do! Thanks for the interest.
Another nice video, love the Air photo and map intel brief.
Thanks for letting me know. I figure it's better than just watching me fly!
Nice video. I really like the Skyhawk 😀
Glad you are enjoying it.
Great Video! Those pop up windows are great😊
Excellent. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the feedback. Stay tuned for the next one coming in a few days.

that sam radar kill is setting a lot air defences off
Excellent execution!! Good shit!!! 🤙
Thank You sir. I enjoyed this one!
It appears the Shrike AGM-45 tracking ability is currently bugged and inop after the 2.9 update. Have you tried it since then?
I have not, although I have seen some comments about it. Unfortunately, that video is OOOOOLLLLDDD so it is almost certainly out of date.
love these vids!
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback
Same question as before :) What profile do you use for the Zunis?
