- A motorcyclist escaped with only minor injuries after riding into a sinkhole in China. The footage, taken last week, shows the man looking at his phone shortly before crashing into the gaping crater in the road. CCTV captured the moment the street collapses before the unwitting motorcyclist drops into the hole head- first.

In China, there is a really fucked up law that if a bystander helps out someone who is severely injured, the bystander will risk years in prison as well as paying for the victims medical bills for the rest of their life. I'm not going to be racist like you, and assume that the majority of people want to help, but it is sadly better for them not to.
Also, the person that fell into the sinkhole doesn't appear to be badly injured. The hole isn't that deep in the first place anyway.
So nice to see other people working together to help someone out.
What was he supposed to do? Jump after the other Guy so they could die together?

20alphabet Watch more clips, the onlooker was not urgent to help because he saw the man on the scooter was mostly fine. The onlooker went on to guard the sinkhole, warning incoming traffic while the man on the scooter walked out of the sinkhole by himself.

He was going about as fast as the motorcyclist. In other words, the motorcyclist was going at a steady pace and was looking right at the sinkhole. The intersection was well lit and the scooter slowed down. I don't know why he continued. Likely the onlooker was confused or shocked by what he saw. If anything, he was wise to approach slowly. Is he trained in first aid? Could he help other than dialing the 911 equivalent? Did he do that? We didn't see....
