yep, a few years ago barbie started to sell the first deaf doll that cannot hear you. that was the point the general public realized that all the previous dolls could hear you, for some reason.
general trick to avoid getting hacked: do not have access to the internet. your heating does not needs to be on the internet, your car in general should not be on the internet, your home under no circumstance should be on the internet.
I hate the idea of a "smart house", because to me that is giving hackers the keys to my house. Same thing with neuro implants. One thing is that I lose my phone or my laptop to a hacker, that sucks. But I ain't going to give them access to my central nervous system.
Good video Long before time had a name, the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago using four elemental weapons. But when he passed, a dark presence sought out to collect them all: Lord Garmadon. So I, Sensei Wu, his brother, sought out to find four ninja to collect them first.
there is an interesting discussion to be had about if Shodan is a good or a bad thing. I think its better if everyone can have access to your data (if its unprotected), rather than just individuals with bad intentions. Just waiting for one of them to stumble on to it. It more or less forces companies to protect their data. There are always gonna be bad people in the world and i think its better to increase the odds of a good person finding it first. Its like everyone of us has a lock on our door, because hoping noone tries their luck with your door is a bad bet. In this analogy Shodan would be a person telling everyone if you bought a house without a lock. Just hope someone tells you that you should install one, before another person can steal your stuff.
You would think the company or person who put Shodan on the market for purchase is also a bit culpable, at least in the eyes of the government, but giving any government additional tools to spy on citizens "at their discretion" never ends well. So catch 22 issue
From a cyber security point of view, you should never buy anything for you kids with "Cloud" in the name, or function. This is the kind of thing that could easily lead to kids being kidnapped.
I wonder when microsoft recalls data get leaked will there be similiar demands its not like taking every single piece of information with like 7 access points is gonna be secure
23:00 You do, in fact, respond to random reporters telling you about a data breach. At the very least, you check their claim yourself. Especially if you know that your data is in an unsecured database. That is like burning trash in your backyard, leaving for work, and then dismissing the warnings of the neighbours about your house actually being on fire. First, you shouldn't need a warning, you should assume that the data was compromised. But second, how can a "reporter" not being a "random" in this situation?? Do you only trust reporters who have warned you about security leaks before??
ahh yes a teddy bear for parents who are to lazy to do it in person or over the phone, just prerecord all of the most popular bed time stories and songs and play the right one.

If it's connected to the internet, it's traceable. Period. Usually a government agency keeping tabs on you, though. Not hackers.
