Rev. Bill McDonald's life has been a spiritual journey, spanning slightly over 7 decades. His whole life has been a mystical trip in search of gurus, the paranormal, and self-discovery. He has written about his many spiritually transforming experiences and “near-death-experiences” including supernatural events during his combat tour of duty in the Vietnam War. In his books he has shared some incredible spiritual events that are beyond both common understanding or explanation.
His autobiography “Warrior A Spiritual Odyssey” takes us on a life quest for love, understanding, forgiveness and enlightenment. His follow-up book (Publishing date 2017) “Alchemy of a Warrior’s Heart“continues that mystical journey including four trips to India for even more profound experiences with holy men, miracles and his personal relationship with the Divine. What he knows for sure after all these years is that the only thing that is truly real is LOVE.
He is an author, an award winning poet, international motivational speaker, artist, film adviser, veteran advocate, a Vietnam War veteran (Distinguished Flying Cross, The Bronze Star, The Purple Heart Medal, 14 Air Medals, The Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, etc.). He has spoken around the world including Germany, England, Wales, Bolivia and India. He has been involved with a dozen films and documentaries. (Such as: “In The Shadow of the Blade”- showed on the History Network and “The Art of Healing” shown on PBS TV) Rev.
He is a seeker but not just for himself. His “mission” is to allow others to experience his journey through his stories. He has had many near-death and near-death-like- experiences and encounters with the supernatural. He is a friend to many - including famous celebrities and people in power positions in life but he treats everyone the same regardless if they are a homeless person or the President or a CEO. His beliefs are simple: There is but ONE GOD - and our only mission is to LOVE & SERVE ALL.
Rev. Bill McDonald was born In San Francisco and raised in California, Oregon and Hawaii. Graduated from San Jose City College with an AA Degree in Labor Management and later from The University of San Francisco with a BA degree in Public Service Administration. He spent over 30 years working for the federal government and retired in 2001. He has spent his time since then working for 5 different non-profit organizations helping veterans while serving the purpose of world peace. He works with PTSD veterans and is a unpaid lobbyist for veteran issues in California. Has also worked as a volunteer chaplain in Folsom Prison and worked for a time answering phone calls for The National Suicide Hotline. His life is filled with service. He married his high school sweetheart Carol, since 1970. He has been living in Elk Grove, since 1979.
Please enjoy my conversation with Rev. Bill McDonald.

I am from India but grew up and still live in the west. While growing up and even now I always felt different from my peers especially in regards to my spirituality, I was never able to share my experiences or beliefs with anyone. I just love watching all the spiritual interviews on your channel. And it's amazing how almost all of your speakers talk about India being a huge part of their spiritual journey. This was probably one of the most amazing life transforming interviews I have ever listened to yet. Thank you so much for presenting this conversation. Happy Diwali!!

I’ve lived in South India for 15 years (originally from the US), and I live at the mountain/temple town that Bill visited during his open heart surgery. The mountain is called Arunachala and it’s considered to be the embodiment of Shiva. And there’s a big very old temple here. It is said that the 18 Siddha’s (very advanced Beings) spend time around the mountain and are sometimes seen - usually as a ball of Light.
This is the mountain that Ramana Maharishi lived at for most of his life.

@@liz9017, the town I’m living in is called Tiruvannamalai (Tamil Nadu). It’s definitely known as a pretty ideal place to meditate and move your attention inward. The mountain here, Arunachala, is believed to be the actual embodiment of Shiva. Shiva is/was the perfect meditator. The energy here helps with that inward movement of meditation. So, this is certainly a great place to visit if that is what you’re looking for. If you do come, send me a message here and we can meet if you like…I can recommend a good meditation teacher if you’re interested.

Choir of Angels, flying around at a young age, knowing l'd been alive before up to the age of 4, a full and beautiful hug full of pure love from Jesus, a near death experience when in the dentist under the influence of gas, visiting spirits who have spoken to me, corroboration of a past life memory prompted from a hypnotherapy group session, etc...

Back in 1976 or so I was working in a Chiropractic Clinic in San Diego as a therapist. I remember the first time I met Dorothy Taylor. She walked into the clinic and as she opened the door the room filled with a spiritual light. My thought was Oh My God… who is this person? As her therapist, over the course of weeks I got to spend several hours with her. She had been Yogananda’s personal secretary for many years. I myself was shy and although curious, didn’t really know what questions to ask and she was not very talkative. She did tell me that she had had breast cancer and had had a radical mastectomy sometime after Yogananda’s passing. She told me that Yogananda had warned that after he passed that some of his students would become sick because they had been running on his spiritual energy. Dorothy told me she had been sick for a long time but continued on through prayer, meditation and the work. Even though she was dedicated to her path she would still on occasion vomit up tumors. Dorothy inspired me to read Yogananda’s book and eventually I went to spend some time at Swami Kryiananda’s ashram in Northern California..... this interview reminded me of my connection to this path, that has been lost to the mundane of just living. Ultimately I know that I am still on the path and doing just exactly what I need to do.

His modesty, his wisdom and his love is astonishing, and the fact that he has chosen to serve and upliift humanity by remaining here, to teach through recounting his amazing experiences is an opportunity for which I am eternally grateful and of which I hope many many people will also take advantage. Rev Bill's towering spititual stature is masked by a modest, natural and down to earth personality that anybody can relate to, he is truly accessible to all fo us. He most assuredly has been blessed and he is so right when he says that the most important thing in life is love. If we could all love one another, there would be no wars, murders, pedos, abusive partners etc, We are all one with our Creator, we are all infinite spiritual beings with infinite consciousness. If we could just accept this fact our world would be so peaceful, so beautiful!

WhenBill said a hill and a guru, I knew it was Arunachala, the place of siddhis even today. There are many still living around the town who look filthy, poor, and don't look sane. They spit and throw stones at you. All these are Siddhas in disguise so people keep away from them and they can wander around in peace and finish off their karma in this life. Indians are not poor. They may look materialistically poor to the westerners but they are deeply spiritual and accept their fate with a smile.
Bill with this talk is helping so many people understand the intricacies of life so in a way he is fulfilling his life purpose. Glad he didn't listen to Maya and give up his heart.

I love, love, love Rev Bill. I came across him on a NDE podcast earlier that I was binging on during the Covid shutdown. I decided the previous NDE stories from other guests were all inspiring but they had become formulaic. I was going to watch other videos BUT the very next podcast was with Rev. Bill and his THREE nde’s. Naturally, I was compelled to watch it and thank God, I did b/c after watching it, I reached out to Rev. Bill and we talked for awhile. He told me about his Nadi Palm Leaf reading and encouraged me to do one, too. It was one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had. I appreciate how Rev Bill lives life fully and without fear. He’s is a shining example for us all to follow and to take responsibility for the lessons/blessings that our higher self asked to learn. If you are seeking a role model, Rev Bill has many stories to enrich your faith - as he has for me. My deepest appreciation for Rev Bill telling his life’s experiences and for Alex and others sharing the work to spread them. Thank you both!

I just started watching this one, but right off I am so upset at the tremendous neglect he experienced as a child. I am sure that those experinces have aided him in some way ( I have to believe that) but WOW I would give anything to go back to that time in that dark room and hold that childs hand. ...

We went up to Babaji's cave, with a guide. We arrive there and the guide forgot the key to the unlock the door. Cosmic joke...we laughed about that. Later in the Himalayas asked a Sadhu about Babaij and he told me very matter of fact yes he has seen him up there. Just a fun profoundly spiritual place to travel

    Okay❣
Talk about being drawn to something one would hear when one needs to hear it.
I said something about midnight to some old homeless lady by the coffee, at a convenience store... thinking it sounded rather negative when I said it but it fell out of my mouth anyway!!
Then I passed this by but there is this guy, and as I click on thinking I don't really want to get into this!
But, he mentioned stuff I recall as a kid, then there was an answer to my rather negative comment, to the old woman.
Today was Oct. 31, a special day in India, and a lovely Indian man told me earlier, smiling
"You look almost like a teenager, with your hair down and those big beautiful earrings"❣
Forgive me BaBaJi, for saying what I said...
my life is often filled with extraordinary things, that make me so very unique. I am often humbled by these strange, and wonderful times.
I will work to be better, at being grateful, and passing on the energy that will fulfill those along my journey !
I would also be grateful for a permanent lovely place to live here, near where I stay and maybe one close to my sister and the ocean!
Guide me to what I need to sustain me and ease my journey, along the way! That includes keeping proper care of all vehicles required, and my jeep! Its feels so rough at 64 to worried about such things at 64.
Feeling blessed in Boulder, COLORADO 2022

This has never happened to me listening to someone on TH-cam , he has just gotten to the point where his poodle was hit by a car and I can't tell you how many similar experiences I have had - same age - hospital stay when I was young -etc etc - I feel there's a connection - I think I'll try to find him on Facebook. I have goosebumps.

Wow what a wonderful conversation, and I feel so honoured to have chanced upon it and been able to listen to you speak, Bill. What a fascinating person you are! I nearly burst out laughing at your description of the cobra 😄My husband is Irish (grew up in Cork city) and I (a far more dull Englishwoman) am always telling him off for exaggerating... he says I don't have the Irish gift for telling a story. Well you most definitely do! Thank you also for really showing that being spiritually awake doesn't mean abandoning humour, laughter etc. Sometimes I feel like 'spiritual' people can all come across as a bit po-faced, sanctimonious and dull, and I think many people turn away from a spiritual path because they think God wants us to all become like that. But you are so full of joy and funny stories, even though you've experienced so much physical pain and suffering in this lifetime. Thank you so much for sharing, and I wish you all the best. I see that your website and youtube channel have many more videos to watch, and I will keep hoping that your health may allow you to visit Italy some day!

Such fascinating stories...right in line with the ones in Autobiography of A Yogi. I first found out about Babaji from masters book and I feel blessed even just to know of his existence. As for Bill, I know he told of the incredible astral travel experiences and obviously has had an extraordinary life...but man my heart went out to his 8 yr old self being left in a cold, dark room by himself w/o visitors or anyone to comfort him..

And one last thing: whenever I “get” incredibly accurate info, like “you have two kids, the youngest, named Brandon, is dyslexic and very artistically talented, and he sprained his ankle last week”… It is all correct, but it doesn’t seem like a big deal to be able to do this, and I’m always a little embarrassed and apologetic about it. So this gentleman SO RINGS TRUE, for me.

I have to follow my true self. I had 190 people give me the silent treatment on fb for leaving. Its hard not to have anyone to talk to anout my spiritual journey. Thanks Alex and your guests for being there for me. I've been on this journey alone for almost 39 years. I'm 61.
