Actually, the entire house is a tricked out structural deal...and not simple and simple claptrap that the interior pavilion roofs support the main roof leave something to be desired...for the open corners it appears he also had to cantilever beams from the remaining walls to support the roof and the weight of the barn doors...individual foundations for the wooden columns only supports two of the columns I believe and the remaining columns rest on a slab...basically in counterpoint to the Philip Johnson house a similar one man pavilion which is a simple structure elegantly detailed.... From earlier structures designed and drawn by Moore one can see how he handled the structure, sometimes rather complicated and the foundation systems he used to support the things. Moore was not "less" by any means.
