I was excited when I saw the title even though I've never been to The National and not going this year. However, the wife has given me the green light to go next year for the first time ever. So I'm so excited. Already.
I read that there will be three official trade nights this year Thursday, Fri and Sat - hoping they designate one of them Vintage and it is any night but Thursday! On waitlist for The Diamond King so hoping they add a second showing. Must be fun to be in early. Have never made it to Wednesday night yet - first time attending not in Chicago and being local, I miss out on some of the fun by going home each night. Separating wallet from money is a good thing - we are upgrading from paper to cardboard!
IX Center is very different, I would not call it a remodel or renovation. The farthest thing from it. More of a deconstruction of the place. They ripped up half of 80% of the carpet and left concrete floors. Concessions are gone and now they have carnival-style trailers with a few tables. But that was for the Car show, it will be interesting to see how they treat the National, but its completely different from the last time it was used for the National
