Seen the film twice. Bought the soundtrack recently. Such an epic scoret o match the film
Before seeing the movie, I listened to Zimmer's music and hated it, I even wrote horrible reviews, saying that this is no music at all, just bullshit electronic stuff. Then I saw the movie and I literally loved it, mainly because of the new approach, miles above Marvel's films, it is smarter than it seems. The music improved the grand scale of the film, and now, I happen to love the soundtrack. Great work in the end, emotional and very personal. I'm so excited for the sequel !

And to make it clear, AGAIN, I love Man of Steel soundtrack ! I was not arguing about Zimmer's music, which I really enjoy, but about composers imitating his style, you know, the Zimmer-like music that you can hear in Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans, Thor, Iron Man, Total Recall (2012), Transformers, The Bourne Legacy, Battleship and many others.

That's what I've been saying: I agree with his style and methods, and I happened to really enjoy MoS soundtrack. His music is unique, vibrant and sometimes truly amazing. However, I don't like composers trying to imitate his style, and they are many of them.

Hans Zimmer is a God
Don't get me wrong, I like Zimmer's, but before really enjoying AND understanding his music, I first thought it was just electronic noise with weird sound effects and strange thematic developments. I couldn't really hear the orchestra and didn't get the purpose of mixing physical instruments with electronic ones. Crimson Tide for example, it took me some time to really enjoy the music, even Gladiator, or M:I 2. After some time, I understood his point, so now, I love it !

Der Soundtrack ist besser als der Film. Dem Film fehlt die Tiefgründigkeit, die Seele. Es war zwar ein ziemlicher guter Film, aber es war zu viel Bam Peng bumm, am besten gefielen mir die Minuten in denen von Clarks Kindheit erzählt wurde.
Ich will auch ein SUPERHANS-T-Shirt!! ;)

I actually didn't enjoy the music before seeing the footage that came with it, that was my point. The listening experience radically changed after watching the movie, emotions linked to the score were amplified because I could link and put images to it. Is that "wrong on many levels" ? No, it's called "sens critique".

Plus when I said "bullshit electronic stuff", I mostly referred to some composers that use those tools without heart or any creativity, just to fill the movie with some kind of noise, easily done and transposed to another movie as temp tracks. Listen to Clash of the Titans ost, it's really bad. Most of Remote Control composers are not very relevant ones, not a bad thing really, but when studios hire them to compose interchangeable and soulless music,that's where I start bitching.
