Hi Josie, I always enjoy when Charlie makes an appearance in your videos. Whether it be a cooking segment, or viewing paint samples, and especially the antique hunting, it's always so entertaining!
Really enjoy your vlogs, especially on a Sunday night. I find your productivity inspirational, it may sound rather silly but the vlog before you flew to Singapore when you were still doing productive things while waiting to leave for your flight, made me think about how I manage moments of time like that! We grew cosmos this year after seeing it in your garden and my goodness, what a beautiful, useful plant, and animal friendly too, unlike many!
Tomato advice: Cut off the majority of the lower branches of leaves so that the plant puts energy into ripening tomatoes, and not into growing leaves. If you notice no change still after that, you can harvest tomatoes while they are still green- keep them on a sunny windowsill and they will ripen on their own off of the vine :)
I love that your shed and greenhouse and garden beds are imperfect… it’s because you actually use them functionally for gardening! It’s authentic and charming ❤️
I thoroughly enjoy yours and Charlie’s conversations. #1 TH-camr! You need a vintage pick up truck for picking up furniture and such. I know I just gave Charlie an idea. I like both versions of the bouquets. xoxo 🤍
The white flower shaped squash is so great for decorating- my granny called them pattypan squash, so tender and sweet peeled, deseeded $ cut up with butter and onions , cooked down till tender they’re lovely cooked!
Pilates, massage treatment and a chai latte on a rainy morning - what a lovely way start the day! And, of course, dexter and dickens did such a good job picking out that green colour for the pantry, they have great taste. Loved the brown leggings/cardigan-outfit (and the hair)! Glamorous and cozy at the same time. Great vlog!
Hi Josie, the tomatoes can be picked and left inside where there is a lot of light and they will turn red and can enjoy tomato salad or whatever you wish in late autumn to early winter!
Hi Josie, I like the way Charlie dresses like a normal person even though he is in the Cotswolds. He wears what he likes, and he likes what he wears. Yay Charlie! Stay true to yourself!! 🙂
Josué I love your blogs you are so genuine.!!! And your content is amazing .!!! Keep doing what inspires you .!!! Lots of love to you my darling .!! ❤️❤️
Hi Josie I would like to thank you as I have had a clear out of my wardrobes (charity shop very happy) and I can now see what I have and put different styles together. After watching your vlogs I am alot more mindful of what I am buying and trying to keep to items I can re-wear for years to come. Feels so good xx
I enjoyed the cheese boards and look forward to the presentations to come our way with Charlies ideas addressing every detail to once again perfection! Idea couple with my vote!
Josie …..the view back to the house and garden, from the shed you were sheltering in is…..OMG gorgeous!! You need a sitting area there to fully see and appreciate your house and garden. 👌🏻❤️
Another simply relaxing and lovely vlog sharing your beloved home the Cotswolds. It has long been on my list of places to visit and your vlogs are really motivating me to get in on my 2023 schedule. I am in love with the pieces from Beaufort & Blake, thank you for sharing as always. (P.S. Your hair is gorgeous even when you let it dry naturally. 😊)
You and Charlie remind me so much of my husband and I when we lived in England. We rarely passed up an antiques shop and rarely left one without buying something! We also loved antique fairs. Most of our furniture, art and decor pieces come from antique and thrift shops. I love it when you take us antique shopping with you.
I would b like Charlie an live at the old station mill! Idea??? That large an small klosh.. on a metal table in the center of the cut flower beds … a great ornamental piece an in the cold months would just look Gorg! Yay can’t wait to see Strawtop II!!!!! Y’all r just magical Hugs from Texas
Hi Josie, if you pick your tomatoes off the vine, place the tomatoes into asunny window, the green tomatoes will ripen, just keep an eye on them... they tend to ripen suddenly. Hope this helps xx love the vlog
Your vlogs are the best medicine in the world--- I live in a very chaotic city that moves at a startling pace. I miss the UK so much and each time I see your life in the Cotswolds it's just heaven on earth for me as there's something for everyone to enjoy--- gardening, shopping, travel, cooking, fitness, antiques, homemaking etc.... Oh that mini greenhouse was just darling! Happy Autumn, dear Josie and viewers. :)
Omg I had a Bamford 90m massage after my wedding and I was equally as stunned by just how perfect it was. Everything I needed, you’ve reminded me I need to go back!
I love the cashmere white shirt , it’s so smart. We have just been to the Cotswolds on Tuesday of this week as it was my birthday, I have followed you for years and have never been to the Cotswolds , I wanted to go to some of the fab places you often go to. We went to Broadway for a walk around and bought a stunning still life from one of the galleries, very expensive purchase, very similar to the one you saw at Station mill but it was a pear and a copper pot. We went to Daylesford too and had lunch at the Fox at Donnington. We will come again and spend the night as we loved it. Thanks for another great vlog 😀
Leave the tomatoes!! I still have lots on mine too (they were very late this year compared to normal) and some turned red only this week, so you never know! Especially as they are in your greenhouse - we've been getting some lovely warm days still, you may get a few more ripen still 🙂
I believe you can boil those citrus leaves and make a natural bug repellent. Also a dried potpourri to can add some of your bay laurel as well place in a vase or bowl around the house. Both repel spiders. Oh and can add some of your lavender.
Many of my tomatoes will ripen after being picked and place them in a warm window sil. The cherry tomatoes I'm not so sure (possibly not) but the bigger ones will. Josie, I also dabble in cut flower arrangements and hanging dark green tomatoes out of a Vase looks very interesting, I also do it with smaller plums or any kind of fall berries.
Hi Josie, once the temp stays below 10 C the tomatoes won’t ripen. You can move the plant indoors and prune the remaining flowers or you can pick the green tomatoes and put them in a paper bag in a warm place. It could take 3-4 weeks but is definitely worth the wait!
I make green tomato chutney from the ones I know won't ripen, so delicious, and apart from Stokes I've never seen it made commercially. The ones that have started to ripen I've left in the greenhouse (temperatures are about 6°C at night, but 25°C in the day), I will bring them in to ripen off the Vine if it gets too cold. I also cut any flowers off, as they're not going to develop.
Good morning beautiful darling josie I hope you charlie Dickens and dexter are well it's so lovely to see you again thanks so much for sharing your lovely vlog stay safe xxx
I loved watching your Singapore vlog. Changi held the best airport in the world award for 8 years now and it's not because it is connected to Jewel shopping mall which only recently opened in 2019. Terminal 3 is amazing having its own cinema, hotel and butterfly garden.
It's so funny and strange because i am really french and i grew up in an old french manor in grey stone ( mansion ? ) with rooms in a row, french furniture ( Louis XIV, Louis XV ), cristal chandeliers and i am passionnately in love with big old english country houses. When i was really young, my mother made me read old english writers, like Thomas Hardy, Rudyard kipling, Jane Austen and many many others, and i loved them so much ( i still read them now ) and it was an atmosphere that always remained in me like a dream. With your house and the Cotswolds in general, it regains in me like a part of me that i had lost over the years. I even bought real ridings boots and i have never ride a horse. But my family did it a long time ago. We had a park with old trees and roses, but we never had a real garden and i always wanted a english garden. I think they are more beautiful than french gardens. I know it may sound fool but i watch all videos and documentarys about english country houses ( big houses ). Maybe it consoles me because we don't have this manor anymore and i miss it so much. My parents are dead and we are seven children and we had to sale this house. Yes, you console me.
i like the autumn table you set in the greenhouse ❤ as well as all the beautiful flower vases in your home ❤ thank you so much Josie, not to mention the beautiful walks we take with you in your beautiful car ❣️ 🙏 ✨💖👍
Treatment at Bamford sounds truly delicious! I haven’t tried Bamford products but did notice there are a couple in my Liberty advent calendar that arrived last week so I will be trying them out soon.
Here in the US a bit of bleach and a dash of dish soap bath will keep those pumpkin and gourds good all season. Tomatoes will turn and May need a bit of fertilizer but you can make all sorts of goodies with the green ones. Chutney, salsa verde, fried green tomatoes ect.
Yes I second this! They are climacteric vegetables which means that the phytohormone ethylen that they produce will be produced even after picking them and this phytohormone ripens them!
You look absolutely incredible for someone who had a long flight! It is utterly miserable to be in an airport shops are shut. I was in the UK at Heathrow during lockdown and ALL I WANTED WAS A COFFEE.😂😂It's the little things.
Hi Josie, I always enjoy when Charlie makes an appearance in your videos. Whether it be a cooking segment, or viewing paint samples, and especially the antique hunting, it's always so entertaining!
Hahaha I love how much you guys love him!
@@JosieIrons he is such a character😀. Ive actually learned a few unusual things from him.
You are such a lovely couple laughing together and having fun
I love how Charlie is so supportive of all of your ideas and can take it and run with it to make it happen for you. ❤

If you notice no change still after that, you can harvest tomatoes while they are still green- keep them on a sunny windowsill and they will ripen on their own off of the vine :)
Agree. Chop off all branches without tomatoes and let the plant work on the fruit.
The boot room looks lovely Josie, green is such a comforting colour x
I love that your shed and greenhouse and garden beds are imperfect… it’s because you actually use them functionally for gardening! It’s authentic and charming ❤️
Wild and wonderful!
I thoroughly enjoy yours and Charlie’s conversations. #1 TH-camr! You need a vintage pick up truck for picking up furniture and such. I know I just gave Charlie an idea. I like both versions of the bouquets.
xoxo 🤍
I love Charlie’s obsession with Cotswold Green paint 🤣🤣xx
The emerald green jumper dress shows off your complexion most divinely!
The white flower shaped squash is so great for decorating- my granny called them pattypan squash, so tender and sweet peeled, deseeded $ cut up with butter and onions , cooked down till tender they’re lovely cooked!
I have coated them with panko and pan fry. I them eat them over a salad
I really enjoy seeing you when you search for antiques, beautiful pieces ❤️
Congrats on H&C Josie. A dream team! They are lucky to have you! Absolutely made for each other x
Absolutely loved this Vlog. Antiquing, tablescape, gardening, everything with such passion. Just a delight Josie!💞

Josie the green you picked in the laundry is absolutely gorgeous …
Hi Josie, I like the way Charlie dresses like a normal person even though he is in the Cotswolds. He wears what he likes, and he likes what he wears. Yay Charlie! Stay true to yourself!! 🙂

Treatment at Bamford sounds truly delicious! I haven’t tried Bamford products but did notice there are a couple in my Liberty advent calendar that arrived last week so I will be trying them out soon.
Even in NY our roses continued to bloom into November because they were on a south facing wall that was wind protected. You should enjoy.

I believe you can put green tomatoes into a brown paper bag in a warmish place and they should ripen. Just an idea instead of composting the them. 😊

I,ve just painted through my house with that color. Or at least very similar. ITs divine. Calming. Made my house seem much more inviting. I love it.x
Cosmos do tend to take over the garden and you can’t see all the other flowers. They are nearly like a wild flower 🌸
Charlie’s clearly obsessed with painting everything a “Cotswold green” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He truly is!
👍🙂
Counted 3 just at the antique shop haha
Love the new paint colour looks so elegant Xxx♥♥
loving the music x
In the USA (south) we use the tomatoes as fried green tomatoes, so good.
