I have seen several video, they destroy the casing and take a big risk damaging the main antenna disc. You are the one that did it the right way. More starlink user should watch this video
One question, I'm seeing that the antenna is completely sealed, so insects wouldn't be a problem? And if they go in, I think they would go all the way to the engine. My question comes since where I live there are many insects 😅 but I still have it on the roof of the house
Hello, Does your antenna still work after the modification? I made this modification and mine worked for 4 days then went offline. I contacted Starlink because my regional mobile subscription was in red. They told me that the antenna motors or the antenna were blocked. Have you changed the Starlink settings so that it can work without the motors? Thank you for your reply, which may help me get my Starlink working again.
I deconstructed, repaired and reconstructed dozens of Starlinks and have plenty of them. This video is just tutorial for those who want to disassemble their terminal.
100% effort so thankts! But not an easy process specially if you're not experience or seen how close the electronics are to the edge. One simple slip and could be a write off. Even with the assistance of a heat gun and plastic levers, found it was just too risky and was damaging the edges anyway. Cut method unforutnately is the ony safe way to go. Regardless well done!
Wow, amazing, so surprised that nobody else has discovered this.
Scope for flat mounting is now huge.

By forcing the joint are you not risking flexing the PCB in a way that might damage it?
You could create a very very low profile flat mount, with this method.

Insects are not a problem. At most, small insects can get into the motor compartment but no one will get inside the terminal main housing.
Would there be enough cable length in the tube to pull connector out and and replace plug with rj45 connector?

@@olegslab thank you so much.
Super helpful
can you do a teardown for the router gen 2 also, because I have a router that doesn't turn on it only flash white once and nothing happens
Yes. It's planned.
I think you might be the first to have done this? Or maybe the first to document it? Thanks for sharing.
I think the first to document

Hello. Yes, it works without any additional settings.
@@olegslab Ok Thank's for your answer
What is the connector type for the board ethernet connection? Is something standard, or proprietary
BM10B-ZPDSS-TF(LF)(SN) + ZDPR-10V-S
nice video! just wondering what your plan is to mount it? very interested
No specific plans. I wanted to show a method to dissemble the Dishy.
What is the point of this deconstruction? Just to satisfy curiosity?

@@olegslabMuch appreciated videos, thats how I measure twice before making any cut for flat mount.

my god easy way to open that. put some gasoline the edges and wait for few seconds then use a flat screw to open
thank me later 😏
