Taemin and Kai are actually close friends and they are in the group SuperM together. They also did a stage with Taemin's song, Pretty Boy.
Yes please check out pretty boy stage if you had time. It doesn't have any dance practice unfortunately but the stage and their chemistry together is so good. You better not do the mnet one cause it has a high chance of getting copyrighted.

Taemin and Kai are masterminds, having BOTH of them in superm was quite the hit for me.
I'm glad you liked Kai! You should see one of his other solo dance practices for his song called "Reason", the vibe is completely different from "Mmmh"! It's a good one to see how versatile he can be :)
Besides being a member of SuperM, Kai is the main dancer of the mega popular Kpop group EXO. EXO debuted in 2012, so Kai has been around for more than 8 years -- and an SM trainee for 6 years prior to that starting at the age of 12 -- and he is one of the most popular idols in the industry. EXO are still very much active, and Kai is still very much a key member of the group. However, "Mmmh" is his solo debut. As a matter of fact, the storyline in Kai's "Mmmh" MV is connected to EXO's group storyline. So even as a solo artist, he is still part of EXO.
Kai is considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the entire industry and that isn't just a fan's opinion, but it's a title given to him by his peers and the industry as a whole. (Taemin from SHINee, who happens to be Kai's best friend since trainee days, who is also under SM Entertainment, as well as a member of SuperM, is the other top dancer. Taemin has been with SM since he was around 11 years old, debuting with SHINee in 2008 when he was 14. He also became one of the most popular solo artists, debuting as a soloist in 2014 -- becoming one of SM's first group members to have a solo career.) There is no one in the industry better then Kai and Taemin when it comes to dancers and performers.
I think one reason why Kai's form is so good is because he originally started out as a ballet dancer. So he learned form and technique first before any other style of dance. That is why you can see such precision in his dancing. As a child he fell in love with dancing after seeing the Nutcracker and he told his parents that he wanted to do that. So, his whole fondation with dance began with ballet.
As someone who has devoted his life to dance, I am sure it didn't take him that long at all to learn this choreography. Have you seen his album teaser called "Film: Kai"? He actually has choreography that goes with every song on this album.
You should also check out Kai's dance practice for his song "Reason" to see just how versatile he is as a dancer. "Reason" is much more of a hip-hop style of song, so the choreography is completely different.
But what you are seeing is the whole reason why Kai is considered one of the industry's best dancers because there is pretty much no style of dance that he can't do, and he does it better than almost everyone.
SM Entertainment is known for having some of the best dancers and singers in the industry. That is just a fact about the type of people it selects to be a part of the company. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing singing and dance skills. So even the company's rappers are unbelievable singers and dancers. All of SM's rappers were first chosen to become trainees for their vocal and/or dance skills. It wasn't until after joining the company that they learned to rap. So that is why SM's artists are known as some of the best vocalists and dancers in the industry -- being great rappers is just a bonus. SM is known for cultivating some of the best singers and dancers in Kpop. That is why it has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. When it comes to SM this is just the skill level we have come to expect.
The more you see from SM's top artists and groups, you might even start to recognize some of the backup dancers. Because there are only a select few people that can keep up with people like Kai and Taemin, and match their dance style and precision. So, when SM finds dancers that are exceptional, they hold on to them for as long as they can and they use them in almost everything. Also, several of the dancers are also choreographers -- and many times the choreographers who choreograph the dances are also one of the dancers -- so their skill level is far beyond the average dancer. The dancers you see in Kai's and Taemin's MVs are usually most of the same dancers they use for concerts and live performances. They are SM dancers, which means they are used as backup dancers in a lot of SM's other groups' projects as well. Most of Kai's dancers are also Taemin's dancers and some have also been Super Junior's and TVXQ's dancers, for example.
Kai's every move is art. Telling a story with his body.
From the way Kai walks... to the smallest gesture to every facial expression... Really every move.

I am very happy and grateful to you to see this reaction to kai. When Kai dances, it is poetry and art in motion. The dance group that accompanies him is excellent, he is not a favorite because when I see him dance with only his body in movement, he transmits the essence of the musical theme, he has a beautiful voice and it seems that he floats in each movement, making it seem that it was so easy to dance . react more to kai and exo please. Kai is the dance machine for a reason.

Kai really is a greek god :') I dont know if you know, but this is his debut song, his first ever solo realease. I love this choreo so much, is smooth and strong at the same time!! As a fan, im really proud of Kai he is amazing, he can dance to all genres and make his own. He and the choreographer Mihawk held an 2 months dancer audition to pic up the dancers, they put a lot of effort in making the performance really amazing and perfect ❤❤

also, i know many have mentioned this already but taemin and kai are actually the best of friends ever since, even before they've debuted with their respective groups, since middle school if im not mistaken and it's amazing to see how, in my opinion, they both are two of the best dancers and performers in kpop and i have nothing but pure admiration for these two the amount of effort and work they put into their craft is just truly admirable

ICU awakening this one has elements of Contemporary , ballet, jazz , hip hop and tutting it dosen't have a dance practice but there is a performance video dir by jae shim from shimworld and live performance in japan

" video. It was pre-debut for SuperM and it was a quick performance from each of the main dancers.
the move you pointed out @10:07 the original choreography had kai doing something similar in like a low open second. there are clips of him doing it from the mv behind the scenes but I honestly I can see why they took it out bc the impact of him being subtle compared to the girls larger movements kinda adds to that "im so sexy I dont even have to try" vibe.
honestly I love watching your videos bc while I sometimes watch kpop with my performer googles on. you always add this extra layer thats just so good and lets me get so much more out of it. I feel like Im improving my dancing by just listening to what you have to say and what you notice.

bummed i missed this when i thought i'd caught all the live streams haha. i guess you must've snuck it in after i went to bed. i'm glad you reacted to this. i think this choreo is super cool and as a fan for a long time it's fun seeing him matched with dancers of a similar level so he can really go all out instead of needing to accommodate for different dance levels with group choreo. the dance practice for reason is also really, really good and since you're in LA i think you'd appreciate the callouts. for the performance version i'd recommend the one he did at the smtown concert on new year's as it's probably less likely to get blocked than it will from a broadcaster.
also not sure if you've watched film : kai? lost track now but i feel like you haven't. it's like a little mini sampler for each of the tracks on his debut album with choreo/performance to match and he worked so hard on it. please check it out if you get the chance. not even for a reaction so you don't have to film it. i just think it's probably a game changer in terms of how kpop will evolve in terms of performance and promotion going forward and it's definitely worth seeing the original for when others inevitably follow his lead.
since you're reacting to award show performances, they're from a while ago now but i really think exo's 2013 and 2014 mama performances were amazing. 2014's also has kai's deep breath performance which was the one that changed the kpop dance scene. they're honestly incredible live performers though so i really recommend checking out anything from their concerts.
