You know, with a title like "Ripped Apart and Reassembled", I was expecting some brutal, drop-tuned, blast beat filled, high-gain death metal. Apparently not...
Steven Phillips I can see where you're going. I also felt a true Haken, The Mountain era vibe somewhere half way through the song, I think from the Cockroach King.
Steven Phillips fanned frets. First created by Novax Guitars. I think Charlie hunter was the first guy to use them from what I gathered. Except his guitar was bass and guitar in 1. 3 bass and 5 guitars strings each going to a bass amp and guitar amp respectively. Charlie Hunter is truly a madman alien of some kind able to throw down complicated jazz bass lines while comping and soloing on the guitar portion all at once...🤔😳 check him out.
Those tama starclassic hyperdrives and Meinls sound incredible. Amazing playing. Also the bassist Dan Briggs always reminds me of a skinny Robbie lawyer.
It's like if Brand X or Gentle Giant tried to write music like An Endless Sporadic. Then again, I shouldn't be comparing this band to others since they're plenty good on their own.
These guys are just AMAZING musicians, but the over indulgent prog thing makes it a bit unpalatable for my personal taste. It's a cool thing to experience top quality musicianship like this, but it loses interest too quickly because I am not hearing a story being told musically. When Rush did their thing, yes; they were progressive, but the structuring of the songs lead you on a Journey. It took you somewhere. This just seems to be ultra-technical for the sake of itself only. Top notch musicianship though. No one capable of logical thinking and semi normal hearing can say this sucks by any means.... just not for me..
The metal world needs more jazz fusion.
Like way more.
A Witty Username Agreed.
I'm hoping to start a band like this, only without guitar, I just need to refine my bass skills
They are so prog they were jamming in quarantine in 2017
It's like I'm hearing Return to Forever again. Good stuff guys.
Who else is here after Pete joined Haken? This sounds amazing!
Right here man! 🙌
Is the drummer playing in the LUMBER section of Home Depot?
Yes.
Metal Jesus! Never seen you in a comment section of music I listen to.
mario kart live performance

Your pre-listen impressions of the track were Ripped Apart and Reassembled.
listened to this song on acid, for me the name is very much on point!
My favorite song off the ep. and the most fun song to learn from the tab book.
I imagine Pete lives in a completely unadorned room with nothing but a keyboard and maybe a mattress.
That's the way we cool musicians live 😎
Is the bass player from between the buried and me???
manshadow513 yes, and the guitarrist From Haken.
This thing is really extraordinary. Love it. I don’t understand why there are only “a few” likes on it? 🧐
The melody is beautiful, and the rest, well there are no words.
I can sense some Brand X and Gentle Giant in here!
I'm getting a strong Mahavishnu and Return to Forever vibe, loving it
This sounds like it's from an 90's SEGA arcade racer. Incredible stuff.
Stunning piece! Kudos from a jazz fussion fan and musician
5:00 Memory Palace reference?
Also, can anyone explain what's up with the fretboard on Richard's guitar?
True temperament frets, makes for better intonation across the neck

microtonal guitar
@@nebula34 They're actually true-temperament frets, not fanned. Fanned frets are still solid across the fretboard, they're just angled differently.
Great song, loved it... Can't wait for the full album! =D
Man this is just amazing. You guys make such badass music.
Reminds me so much of Mats/Morgan Band. Everyone should check that out!
My first thought was Snarky Puppy.
Definitely!
Morgan Agren is right up there as one of my favorite drummers 👍
I was totally ripped apart and reassembled and it felt good.
I'm not really a fan of Dancing Machines yet, but I really like this one :) Great hooks.
Wow! That’s incredible 🍾😝...more!!!!!
THAT BASS TONE dan briggs is a god
3:25 to 3:40 ... you just have to listen this: pure magic
This song made me grow extra toes it's so other worldly
Nice piece of excellent music...
I was expecting more of a death metal goregrind sound at the name of "Torn Apart and Reassembled"
It's about teleportation. :)
Yeah, this is totally not what I expected.
Those tama starclassic hyperdrives and Meinls sound incredible. Amazing playing. Also the bassist Dan Briggs always reminds me of a skinny Robbie lawyer.
That guitar is a trip, man
Blown away. AWESOME
That awesome :)
Oh, this will be some drop tuning moster of a... F-ing awesome sick jazz/fussion tune
Excellent upload! The drums audio is a bit off-phase from (lagging behind) the video, though.
When great musicianship collide!
Must. See. Live!
Can anybody explain what is going on with the frets on that guitar? What is that called?
The frets are true temperament and also fanned. god axe
Thank you both
Thank you both
Love it guys. Bring on March 10th. 😎
parece liquid tension en muchas fraseos, igualmente buen trabajo!!!
It's like if Brand X or Gentle Giant tried to write music like An Endless Sporadic. Then again, I shouldn't be comparing this band to others since they're plenty good on their own.
Amazing job guys, so sick.
At the 5 minute mark… is that a quote from another artist/song? It sounds so familiar. Strawberry Girls?
Big time Allan Holdsworth vibes from this track
Does anyone recognise the books in Richard's footage?
1:54 mm, love that synth
Oh my fusion
Sounds very similar to Plant X! I love it!
Sounds like a modern king crimson Really cool
Min 2:38 INSANE!!
dope
are the jagged frets for intonation? Super Cool!
Fuck Yes!!!
I sense some gentle giant influence.
This makes me want to watch cheezy 80s movies
😍
Epic!! Where are the mics on that drum?
funky ass grove ya'll
3:57 my fav
If these guys wanted to, they'd make a helluva Rush cover band.
this is fucking A M A Z I N G !!!!
what is that bass pedal?
Best elevator music.
you deserve a beer... or two
Fucking Willy Wonka's Great Glass Elevator, maybe.
Is that the bassist of Trioscapes?
Dan Briggs. The bassist for Between the Buried and Me.
He is also bassist for: Orbs, Trioscapes and Nova Collective.
Dan plays in both BTBAM and Trioscapes.
Dan is the guitarist of Orbs, not the bassist
No, this is Patrick
Calm some tits bro. Dan plays both bass and guitar for Orbs.
Is it just me or does this sound like some street fighter EX3 music, but extra epic
gran turismo
Awesome! Preordered the vinyl and I'm super pumped! Also, is that a micro tonal guitar? It looks like one
The frets are a patented system called true temperament. It ensures perfect intonation for each individual string
the last bit is so DT and sooo Sonic the Hedgehog at the same time! :D
DT ??? Nope... Better than DT so far
Don't be that guy.
Of course its better than DT. But resemblance doesnt necessitate comparison
Final fantasy boss theme, here we are
güzel iş
I imagine that this is something Napoleon Dynamite listens to...
Reminds me a bit of my favorite band, Area, just without the vocals and Middle Eastern elements.
Sounds like season 3 of The Transformers.
Hey Metal Blade, this song isn't Dancing Machines! Change the description!
like an elevator ride down a rabbit hole
kurwa
zajebiste xD
Aliens exist.
Sounds like it could be in anime lol
I prefer Dancing Machines to this
JTNugget same. this is good though.
A bunch of metal musicians came together to write a Snarky Puppy song.
3:57-5:00

Odd.

Video game music, meet elevator music ^_^
¡Pssssss!... ¡no!
Loud drums, well played but metronomic
Just not a big fan of this kinda music
