I never would have guessed that it were possible to motorize both the main rotor and the tail rotor in a model that small. Bravo!

You model train guys will ALWAYS go that extra mile to make your layout's more realistic, won't you.......nicely done though, it would look GREAT with some carnage and crashed cars laying around, just hovering over the scene as the trains flash past.....I can see MANY smiles on young kiddies dials, and their Dad's in the right layout.....

I did this back in the 70's with one of those heli's that would "fly" in a circle connected with a rod to a central pad (Mattel or Kenner or something ?) and a Huey 1/72 model and model train transformer with a long wire. No tail rotor function, but I spent hours "Hand flying" that Huey with the spinning main flying mission after mission. This really brought back some memory's. What a great job You did, Kudos.

If I wouldn't have stepped on it, I would have flown that thing in circles forever ! It came with little traffic cones and little barriers with hooks on them to be picked up. I don't know how many circle shaped barricades I built with that thing nor how many D battery's I made Mom buy LOL !

Very nice work. I've always wanted to motorized some miniatures, but I don't need to anymore. I got model RCs that look great and fly well. One thing to note, I've detected a fault in your soldering technique. You can't dab solder on like that after melting it onto the tip first. The reason being that the flux core that makes the solder flow well and cleans the joint evaporates within a couple of seconds. You need the flux to make a good joint. The solution to this is to either heat up the joint and apply solder to it, so the flux can flow and do its job, or apply flux paste into the joint so you can dab the solder onto it and the flux is already there. In either case, you need the flux to make a good joint. Solder doesn't behave like glue.

What an utter joy to see this tiny, static model become a hovering helicopter!
The workmanship and mastery involved in creating a rotors turning helicopter in such a miniature model that was never designed or manufactured as anything other than a static display are hugely complex and challenging.
This is miniature engineering and artistry combined to bring to 'life' this otherwise static display and it achieves this superbly.
The difficulties and tolerances involved are certainly beyond anything that the majority of us could comprehend attempting, and few, if any could succeed.
Thank you for sharing this masterclass of miniature engineering and artistry which was fascinating and enchanting. Subscribed.
