This going about it the wrong way, women are supposed to be caring, nurturing, empathic etc... and you want to apply these traits in a highly competitive, agressive, sometimes ruthless situations ... like CEO and world leaders where harsh decisions are needed? like hand them those spots on a silver plates? even if done? can they handle the stress that cimes with it? not ALL men can do it, most cant.

I can't speak for Tom, but I would expect him to say that a culture that emphasizes aggression, ruthlessness and harsh decisions is something to be fixed, not adapted to. Empathy isn't weakness. Compare, for example, Sundar Pichai's handling of layoffs at Microsoft vs. Musk at Twitter.

Right, so what are the reasons? is there any quantitative study that it proves this? Mr. Peters said women have empathy, of course they do everybody has. Even me. And for my job especially in ux I need strong empathy. Does that makes me strong leader right of the bat? of couse not. Leadership is a learned skill and I think gender plays small role in it.

Tom's point is that empathy is the most important trait/skill leaders should have today. Leaders clearly need other skills, too, but lack of empathy will hurt both CX and EX. As far as gender empathy research, my Forbes posts links to a couple of studies: www.forbes.com/sites/rogerdooley/2020/06/25/superpower-female-cmos/ (Look for the "Empathy Science" subhead.) Thanks for the comment!

"Why Males Make Better Leaders" would sound like a shamefully unfair statement to me. Roger, I wonder what you think about "Why Females Make Better Leaders" - because you seem to promote this.

I think the point is Tom is making is twofold:
      1) Women are greatly under-represented in the ranks of large company CEOs and board members.
      2) Research shows that women, on average, score higher for empathy.
If you believe that empathy is the most important trait needed to be an effective leader (as Tom does), then companies with male-dominated leadership teams will (on average) underperform more balanced ones (or those that skew female).
Note that differences in broad populations say nothing about individuals. There are empathetic male leaders, and some female leaders may be far less empathetic than the average male. Hence, you can't use that tendency to influence individual hiring decisions. You can't say, "We need more empathy, hire a woman." It is legitimate, though, to question the makeup of leadership teams that lack gender (and other) diversity.
