I'm probably too new to AE to be trying this, but I'm trying to add motion design to some Illustrator artwork that a friend did. I thought "I have no idea how to get these brush strokes to move anywhere!" because the previous artist had used a lot of art brush strokes on her paths, but now I can see that tapered edges for strokes in AE and Roughen Edges will allow me to recreate the look of the more wet brushes that she used. Thanks so much!
That was a great tutorial man! Not easy for beginners. Took quite a long time to do. And in very very few instances it didnt turn out exactly like yours, but I am really glad with the result and managed to make some variations which I am proud of and happy with Thanks for that!
yeah definitely! if i may suggest feedback: I am currently looking through your 180 video playlist and am only picking out transitions. Mainly, transitions that arent glitchy or zoomy, but rather transitions that have an overlay feeling to them. Like liquid transitions but not necessarily only liquid. Important is that you COULD put text or a logo on top of that middle of the transition. I kno you have lots of these. I just noticed, you do quite fancy ones. Which isnt bad. However, they are probably very hard to come up with AND produce. And definitely not easy to replicate. My suggestion would be to do transitions, but VERY easy ones. I know you have multiple videos on them already, but I personally would love even more. Just to have that variation. I sometimes see a video where I like the mechanics used, but the end form doesnt appeal to me personally, so I just completely disregard the entire video. Even though if you made the SAME video with only slight changes at the end, I would use a lot of them. I would even watch a video where you only changed one tiny thing which might be the angle or something. Simply because my head is all over the place rn and coming up with slight variations...1) I just dont come up with them and 2) I dont know what is even possible with AE even though I replicated some of these. I have no idea what I am doing there. Meaning, I am not really able to do much on my own with AE And I dont even want to learn AE. I just want to get these transitions, overlays, backgrounds and stuff for my video templates done and then ideally not use AE except when I need more of these which wont be daily, not even weekly. Probably monthly or every 1-3 months. Which is ok. But for that reason, you would be able to "get away" or attract people (like me), who really just need about 90% the same tutorial with 10% variation in it. People who, when they need something, they need to work on BULK. (hence, multiple variations with only slight changes would IMMENSELY speed up my own workflow here and the results I could get from your youtube channel!) And after having like 10 of these videos, you can do one "Compilation" video where essentially you show the 90% part only once and then quickly go through the 10% 10 times so I can quickly get 10 different variations while the knowledge is still fresh instead of watching one tutorial and then in 1 week watching another which is very similar just to get that slight variation done which might be squares instead of circles in the background or whatever I dont know if that helps you. I am currently working on a template for a chess channel. The content will be basically of the same type over and over again. But I would like to have a great style to keep the videos engaging and also have multiple variations of templates, so the videos dont get boring, but so I can also pump out much because I have multiple variations ready before starting and can just randomly pick one when creating a video. Just to have a quick workflow you know Its a very specific type of youtubers (mostly faceless channels. mostly those, who have clear formats like top 10 formats or some other repeatable content of that sort. In my case, I want to show chess puzzles. If that tells you anything. Quiz channels are basically of the very same type that my videos will be modelled after at least for the start. "donki anime", "great quiz" and basically typing in "quiz" in the search bar and picking the bigger channels...these are channels I am modelling for now. They might give you some inspiration for AE tutorials) I am quite sure you could go into that niche and give some deep value for "faceless youtube channels". I wouldnt put myself necessarily in that category because I might also show my face in them later on, but for now its basically that and I feel the problems that come with that decision. Which is: Since you dont show your face, you have to use editing (mostly AE templates) to give a unique branding experience to it. If you dont show your face, these AE transitions and backgrounds (and soon maybe I also look for other stuff) are the way to go from my point of view Hope that helps you in targeting your videos towards hopefully an untapped niche/audience Anyways, subbed to you. Appreciate your videos! Have a good one @@ManueldoesMotion

I am unable to select only the Path 1 and Path for Shape 2 while animating the splash. No matter what I try it selects the shape as well. Am I missing a step?
Thank you so much for this liquid. I have got it in gumroad for 1.50$ and now i can use project. it is only footage1 can transparency, but i want to transparency footage2 too, so how can i do that ? Please help me!
Hi! Thx very much for getting the project file! You want to fade away the second footage as well? I would duplicate the transition solids below footage 2 and paste them above footage 2, so that the transition starts again at the time you want to and covers footage 2.
@@ManueldoesMotion Hello! Thank you very much! yes i want to remove or fade away the footage2 to transparency background for liquid splash. How can i do that brother?
So I bought the project file hoping that I could use this as a stinger transition for my streams, but the end screen isnt transparent. Any ideas on how to make the transition end completely transparent?
Hi Adam. You split the "splash main" layer at 24 frames. Then you move the second part of the layer up, below "splash mask". Then delete the "footage_2 comp" and set track matte of the splash main layer below the mask to "luma inverted matte".

You have to make sure you select the path property of the shape. Maybe open it and select it directly.

This looks awsome. Can a beginner do it? Like to try it but don't want to get stock in the middle?
Thanks very much! It's probably too difficult if you just started with After Effects... I mean you could try if you don't mind getting stuck?
So this will not work with transparency background. It must edit in softwares so it can work?
It works with transparent background. If you want to use it in Premiere Pro you have to render out the "splash mask" layer to reveal the footage.
I hope you can help me rectify the problem because I don't know where I went wrong.
