    another thing too is after u been ripping gears in your car for alotta years my clutch pedal bracket spotwelds all broke a nice solid fix for that is to drill the spotwelds out and put grade 8 bolts and lock washers on its so much more solid than before now

    yoo just a heads up, alot of cars (my z32 included) are actually supposed to have about half an inch of slop/free-play other wise when you fully let off the clutch, it might not engage fully and slip a little bit.

      from what I could see in the video, it looked like the rod was moving even with the slightest movement of the pedal hence not enough free play but I could be wrong, plus im not a mechanic nor have I ever owned a 240 let alone one with an rb lol. not tryna talk shit btw, just throwin my two cents in!

    The "springy" battery contacts in your light probably just need to be bent out to properly engage the battery ends. One of your lights battery contacts is probably barely touching the end of the battery. Almost always the issue with flickering lights that have good batteries. Nice video.

    cool man, i just did that today made a big difference, will adjust it abit more. I have that squeaking noise where you just put abit of pressure on the peddle and it goes away. @@Ledface117 Aww, I'm disappointed (actually, never thought you would answer)--so, the clutch is STILL "operational," then, I assume? I have had the same situation (I think, anyway...) with my clutch pedal for a few years--do you also have to kick the pedal up before you can successfully shift (especially into reverse)?

    • @Ledface117
      @Ledface117 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rich Rolwing when the engine gets hot, the friction zone drops waaay low. Like right off the floor. So the clutch still works but it’s all jacked up. I think one of these days I’m just going to replace the slave and master cylinder for the clutch and that should fix it all

    I have a miata but the adjustment is identical because I just did it. I rotated the sensor just a little bit, enough to where there is no slop now. I think it caused my pedal to squeak now when being pressed down. Any ideas? Do you think its just the spring from having more tension on it from the adjustment?

    Had a new clutch put in… changed the master and slave a month later.. since then I can’t get into first Gear or R from a stop.. if I rev the car while pressuring for 1st gear it will fall in.. or if I hold the pedal for 5-6 seconds it will fall into gear… I’m convinced it’s air in the system being introduced somehow.. but I’ve tried bleeding 101 different ways.. always seem to have air in the system.. never let the master empty.. garage wants a new clutch… I’m convinced it’s air… thoughts?

    Are you talking about a clutch pedal that doesn't come back up off the floor enough (this is where "wasting time" on a little more explanation would have been a positive)?? I have the problem that I have to kick it back up before I can effectively shift (especially into reverse)--I have heard that there could be more serious issues with this problem and that your solution might not be enough (of course I might have a different problem to begin with than what you're talking about here)...

  • @fraskie66
    @fraskie66 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yo, i just recently installed pretty much new OEM transmission components besides the gears, and ever since and prior to doing so the slave cylinder would whine/squeak while in idle, but once the clutch was pressed down slightly it would go away. I fear that it's not positioned right because the pedal is off due to use for the past 20yrs etc. I'm gonna try to adjust the pedal thanks to your vid and see if it helps.

    cool video i was just wondering about clutch adjustments and there isnt much info about them on the internet, great video besides that light wtf lol, but figured id shoot you a question maybe u have some insight, my clutch pedal sucks itself to the floor when i am shifting into gears, like first every time the clutch sucks and sticks to the bottom of the floor, but i can flip it back up and still use it to get into third, and when the clutch is stuck on the floor i obviously cant re press the clutch pedal cause it has no where to go, havent found much info about it even shops dont know but seems like it looses pressure, would u think it just needs a bleed, adjusted like ur video, or the master cyclinder doesnt seem like the MC cause i can keep using it some videos state they cant use the clutch at all and the MC is broken so wanted to know if u ever heard of a fix for that problem or if its happened to you, i dont wanna bleed the clutch cause i gotta take off a subframe mount to get to my bleeder screw which is locktite in i think but thanks anyways

    • @festa289
      @festa289 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you put the clutch in and hold it in, does it start to engage by itself? it kinda sounds like a dodgy seal in the master cylinder returning fluid back to the reservoir instead of holding pressure to the slave. also you should consider a remote bleeder if its had to access. bleeding is normally the first thing to try when trying top diagnose any hydraulic issue such as this

    • @KingDavid9999
      @KingDavid9999 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes i hear u i would have bleeded it but i cant losen the bleed screw cause they put it next to the subframe mount on my car, which is like lock tite on. but YES it does actually engage when the clutch is on the floor, like ill shift into 1st and i dont have to release it at all and it will go into gear then i gotta use my shoe to pull it back to the top and almost pump the clutch sometimes to get pressure to actually get it to shift into gear or itll just grind, what is a remote bleeder, i was gonna replace everything cause it all seems fucked but ive asked around and no one knows what it could be not much info on it just really broken clutches and something like this video but still helps. thanks for the reply tho bro appreciate it gonna try a remote bleed and see if that fixes it if not gonna replace the slave and master cyc and bleed and hope she works like new haha thanks

    • @festa289
      @festa289 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha sweet bro, yea it sounds like the inlet seal on your master cylinder is the problem. a remote bleeder is a piece of brake line with a bleed nipple at the end of it that goes into the slave where the nipple is now. if you google remote bleeder you will see what i am talking about. with this you can run the line / bleed screw wherever you want. hydraulic throwout bearings use this method as the slave is inside the bellhousing. if you cant get your niple out you wont be able to fit a remote bleeder in which case you would be best to change both master and slave but put the bleeder in a place that is easy to access. a brake and clutch shop should be able to make you a remote bleed line if you cant find one off the shelf. good luck

    hey kalvin i have a s13 and recently did a manual conversion = new slave and braided clutch line, my problem is the clutch pedal is sticking to the floor and i have to raise it manualy, i have tried bleeding it the proper way and still the same problem. theres no leaks around master or slave so i rly dont know what the problem is. just seeing what your thoughts are on this :) thanks

    • @KalvinMalli
      @KalvinMalli  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +monique jones usually when that happens it's a slave problem. Or air in the line. Is it a new slave?

    • @moniquejones81
      @moniquejones81 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah its a new slave and braided line, no need to worry the problem was the master cylinder, there rly hard to bleed too haha. is your rb20 forged ? and did you do it yourself

      Make sure none of ur lines have a kink at the ends with the nuts can cause a small leak that seeps and it will keep the pedal from keeping pressure
