I use my wet saw for my cuts just go slow because it can grab your profile and possibly hurt ya.

I never thought to use a hot glue gun. Great idea. I cut my profile before I tile the wall in order to get the measurements for those tiles as well. I have used both the metal and PVC jolly profiles. When I used PVC I didn't miter the corners, but my grout was the same color as the profile. Do you like the the snap cutter better than a wet saw?
I do like using the snap cutter because of the shorter set up time and clean up.

As a rookie, I started cutting these with a miter saw. The dang thing got caught in the blade and almost killed me.
How do you cut a 3-way corner with that type of profile (for a bench, two flat one up/down)
Im tiling a window in a shower and thinking I'm going to do exactly what you did. When cutting the wall tiles, do you leave them short for a grout line? Or how do you seal between profile and wall tile in a wet area? Thanks 💛
Depending on which way I'm installing the profile will determine the space for a grout joint. In this exact setup I left about a 1/16" for spacing and it was filled with grout.

Hey tile chick. I just got a question. How would you do the window inside the shower? Preventing water from going inside the window to the tiles
I've also been a finish carpenter for 45 yrs and I always use my miter saw , when doing so always use a piece of wood behind the schluter so u don't get the kick back.
Ps. My wife is so jelly of u. Hahahaha.

Hi @that tile chick! I just watched your video. Loved it! Where can I purchase the profile?
Instead of using a heat gun, put one cut tile in, then push the trim into it. The adhesive will hold it by about 70%> then put second cut in against the trim. You will have a 90% hold
So on....., Finish the line and tape up secure.

Great! Thanks. Is tiling over bare 2X4 framing an acceptable method for a shower? I intended to Duroc Cement Board all of the framing wood, and then Redgard Waterproofing. Is my plan necessary? THanks again.
Trying to do a walk in shower for the first time
Drain plumbing looks tricky as there are 4 pipes connecting right where in need to have the drain
Basically have to as all the contractors are busts for 3 months
And I have in-laws coming in 4 weeks 😮

I have a similar situation that I would deal with if I decide I can do my bathtub to shower conversion. You know what would be cool? If I could pay for air tickets for the two of you to come help me with my bathroom project… and… you get to visit Iowa lol. See! Something new… maybe lol

Great instruction. One question about the top tiles, do we need to support them after laying them until mortar dry out ? I just worry about those tiles may sag or drop down by gravity.

This is fantastic. I'm doing my first tiling job at my first home and it has a vertical window smack dab in the middle of the back wall. This will be a great reference video! I have those tile trims, but I didn't think about holding it place with some glue. Nice :)

Curious how the shower would seal to a window in a shower?
Rely on the silicone between tile and window frame? And the tilt of course.
Or should the membrane connect under the window frame?

I bought a home that has window above the stove and now I'm interested to convert wood frame to tile so it's easy to clean after many years of foods and oil splash on it
I've done many but, using a hot glue gun is something I nvr thought of doing. Thx for the tip

I don’t know where to start tbh.
This will be the first time I am tiling inside of a window frame. The window is inside of a shower so being waterproof is important. The casing is wood so struggling with how to do this. It is a 30 y/o home in Florida that has these thick hurricane windows. Can I tile on top of the wood casing? What is the prep for something like this? I have not gotten a good answer from any of the tile shops in my area. I was thinking of Kerdi waterproofing membrane and affixing it to the wood casing and then tiling over that. I would love confirmation that this is a way to go or any help in solving :) Thanks for your videos!

Note: You should use a rubber malet to properly seat your tiles.

In a shower with durock do you just preset by bumping the tile to the schluter to get the depth right for both sides? I notice there is no durock on that window is that because a polymer mud is used in such a little space it doesn’t need it?
Durock is shit use densheild better easyer to cut
