Julie Ann San Jose perfectly portrayed the Maria Clara that I ever imagined she would be: sa kilos, pananalita, kagandahan, lahat kuhang-kuha. It was as if she was born for this role. Para sa akin, karapat-dapat din siyang bigyan ng parangal bilang Best Actress.

I noticed that maria clara is too innocent for the world, all she wanted was to love but she wasn't able to explore the world due to the rules given to her by her guardians. And as she said, for the first time, she felt the feeling of jealousy against klay, because klay was the woman she wanted to be, klay was free meanwhile she was like a caged bird, who has wings but couldn't fly further. Grabe yung sakit na nararamdaman ko nung malaman ko kung anong klaseng buhay ang mayroon siya, a woman who wants to love a "mad man" but didn't want to fail her family. Nakakalungkot talaga :(
I just finished the series and her performance took my breath away. Barbie Forteza, has always been exceptional when it comes to acting but Julie, Julie was a revelation. Apart from her heartbreaking crying scenes all throughout the series, her timing as the meek and oh-so graceful Maria Clara was undeniably on point. Especially in the scene where she had to dress up as a man just to meet with Ibarra-gosh it was so funny and cute! She acted so innocently which to be honest, required great acting prowess. People associate great acting only with massive crying and effective outbursts but I always viewed it as a package. I believe great actors not only are good with heavy scenes but are also exceptional in timing when it comes to delivering their lines, and showing emotions through their eyes, which I believe Julie effortlessly delivered. I instantly became a fan! I hope one day, she gets the credit and appreciation she deserves! Kudos!

To be honest, Julie Anne should have been awarded as Best Actress for her portrayal of Maria Clara. She TRULY OWNED the role!! Her impact in the teleserye has never been felt until she died in the story!! For me, I even came close to stop watching this series. That was how she affected me with her subtle acting, initially, until her character developed as a fighting woman/ Yet, even if her role became more intense, she still maintained the humble and meek Maria Clara that we all know! Her scene alone with Fr. Damaso when she found out that he's her father is a testament to her great acting as she acted flawlessly, alone, without Tirso Cruz III in front of her! She really gave more than justice to the role!
