I know it's a little late to tell you this now but you can make a flat steel plate to hold the hub and use a lathe to cut the welds out . it make replacing the shells a piece of cake and leaves a perfect surface for the weld when you reassemble the wheels

You should paint those centers black. That with the chrome lips and gold accent would be 🔥. That and they would look cleaner longer

You could make your life easier if ever you change your mind about doing it again, by putting the wheel on that tire mounting machine to hold it steady and turn it evenly while you cut it.

Does you have to weld the 3 peace wheels or can you just bolt them together? And when you just bolt does you have to aligning them or are the bolts fitbolts?
The bolts align the parts together , I could has chose told weld them but then it doesn’t give me the option to later on take them apart to put bigger or smaller barrels again

No just silicone it. I mean you could weld them but most people dont.
