"Try Doing" means that you know that you MAY NOT SUCCEED [at completing a request which is PROBABLY UNUSUAL]. "Try to do" means that you KNOW THAT YOU WILL SUCCEED. Thanks for letting me clear this up. Nobody teaches English properly
