Thanks for the overview. Just received mine yesterday can't wait to dive in. This game definitely fit the bill for me on all the points you made. I love games based on a variety of decisions. This provides replayability in my opinion. The automa low maintenance is great. Games looks really nice. Like always great overview!

Thanks for the great overview! Where did you get the cardholders/resource trays? Did you 3D print them? If
so, can you share a link to the STL file?

I bought them from the geek store on boardgamegeek.com

    Thanks for this!
FYI, the top employee is the 'Cowboy' (not Rancher). The middle employee (the female) is the 'Builder.' The bottom is the 'Engineer' (and there is no "Businessman"). Just for clarity's sake. Thanks again.

Thanks! I read and play too many games to keep them all straight!

When I am in the middle of making the videos, I always realize how little I remember of what the actual pieces, resources and characters are actually named. I think it is because I get way more involved in the strategy and gameplay and don’t care too much about the theme. The theme used to be a focus for me years ago, but I barely even describe it these days when teaching a game. This is not a conscious choice. It just needed up going in that direction over time. Case in point, I taught my family Meadow this weekend and completely forgot what the player was actually supposed to be doing.

So I just played one full game of this, and I have to say that it's terrible. I'm selling it asap. I played on EASY mode, where you remove 3 of the AI's cards, I didn't use the "b" side of any private buildings, and I put the neutral buildings all in their appropriate letter spaces (not randomized). I LOST tremendously...101 to 57. Now on an EASY setting, that's very ridiculous. I have never lost a board game on an Easy setting by such a tremendous margin. Therefore, this tells me that this solo mode is very broken and/or extremely unfair. I'm going to go with the unfair verdict. This bot is very unbalanced, and I think a lot of people know that. Definitely a huge sell for me. I love Maracaibo, but this one? Simply horrible from a solo standpoint.

I have to respectfully disagree on it being a terrible game. I enjoy it quite a bit, even though the bot can be pretty tough. I think that one thing you have to consider is how fast the bot moves through the board and that certainly affects how it plays. You really have to play this game several times before you can figure out how to score well on the loop, what buildings to build, when to stop at them and when to pass them up. I have managed to beat the bot just a couple of times and my highest score has been a 103. However, my scores have been in the 50’s also. It just takes some time to learn how to play this one well. That is my 2 cents anyway. Sorry it did not work for you.

@@JohnLaRuffa it's ok. Not for everybody. I'm filing it under a Pfister Pflop.

Well at least you didn’t get the expansion or the other ones in the trilogy. Dodged that bullet for yourself!

@@JohnLaRuffa I did get the expansion, but it's unopened, thankfully. This is a race game like Maracaibo, and I don't need both in my collection. I greatly prefer Maracaibo over GWT anyway.
